Thoughts on whether an 8L13 date with N marking would be appropriate for GT 500 with Feb 26 build date
#78
Wondering if the 69/70's 500s typically had N or non-N carrier

Also curious about typical date codes. Mine currently has 8D24 dated, non-N nodular carrier in car built Feb 69.  Seems a bit early for car's build date (10 months ?).

Back in the early '80's used to swap in/out various 3rd members in the car   Wondering if I might have lost track of the original over the years.  Hoping I had the correct one the car as I was selling off all my extra parts 30 years ago.

Here's a photo of C6 out of mine.  This is the original trans from my 70 GT500.

13 months between build date and sold date on the Marti for my '70.

Order Received:         01/02/70
Car Serialized:           01/30/69
Bucked:                     02/21/69
Scheduled for Build:    02/26/69
Actually Built:             02/26/69
Sold:                         03/20/70

I've always been curious where the car was located during those 13 months.  Did it lingered unsold on the dealer's lot or ???...and then what...re-VIN at dealer or perhaps shipped back to KK.

Or did it remain static in Ford's inventory...eventually re-VIN then sent to dealer.  But seems like a big gap  there (13 months).

Not as familiar with dates as experts, but the 02/26/69 build date seems early to remained unsold and result in re-VIN to a '70.

FWIW...My 70 GT500  (481357) is small suspension car built fairly early...02/26/69.

Were '70 GT500 automatic cars converted to manual choke?

Is the PCV configuration same on 69 and 70 GT500 automatic cars ?  Checking to see if anything pcv-related was changed during the re-VIN.

Thanks as always.

1969-1970 Shelby GT350/500 / Intake manifold bolt question

Installing a CJ intake.  AMK intake bolt kit came with one unique bolt.   Wondering which hole gets this bolt.

Thanks,

Anyone have specific info about where the car was found.  I live about 15 miles from Weatherford and I can't help daydreaming about it.

1969-1970 Shelby GT350/500 / Re: R Servo for C6

Would a C8OP cover be an acceptable part for a VIN-matching tranny in 69/70 gt500?  Or would I be advised to continue the search in hopes of finding a C8ZP R cover(if there's such a thing).

1969-1970 Shelby GT350/500 / R Servo for C6
June 12, 2018, 12:15:23 PM
Would an R servo with engineering number of C80P-7D027 be incorrect for a Mustang by virtue of the "P" in the number?

My understanding is P indicates Fairlane.

Or have there been C8OP servo covers found on original C6 from 69-70 gt500?
