Wanted: Looking for a no pits pulley to replace my original.
Any leads are appreciated.
I have been able to locate pulleys, the challenge is to find one that’s a decent core.
I can provide dimensions if you think you have one, but are unsure about the pulley diameters.
Thank you

I’ve sent out the fan clutch for restoration.
It has the correct Ford stamping at the fan mounting OD surface.

The question I have is about the stamping mark on the inner surface of that plate ( see photo )
Is that the build date? “C119”

Also, were there any other ink printed markings on the cad plated surface near the front spring?
Thank you
Fran

1968 Shelby GT350/500/500KR / GT500KR Seat Belt Tags
« on: May 10, 2023, 08:38:26 AM »
In preparation for sending my seat belts out for restoration…inventorying all the pieces, stamping numbers and webbing fabric labels..

I noticed that the shoulder harness tags were
“Manufactured for Shelby- American”, and the rest of the belt tags were “Manufactured for Ford”

Apparently the shoulder belt harness was a Shelby American design.

1968 Shelby GT350/500/500KR / 68 Shelby Antenna, Rear Mount Hardware.
« on: April 26, 2023, 06:33:36 PM »
Looking for the top compression nut for rear mount antenna.
The nut on my antenna was damaged at some point.
I’m concerned that it was damaged to the point where the rounded off edges are beyond repair.

I’d like to find a good core for rechrome.
Any comments, or leads on finding just the nut are appreciated.
Attached are photos of the antenna mount that highlight the nut fastening hardware.

Thank you

1968 Shelby GT350/500/500KR / Interior Door Handle: restoration question
« on: December 04, 2022, 02:06:32 PM »
Thoughts on rechroming originals Vs going the aftermarket path.

I was inspecting my original handles today, in preparation for taking a batch of parts off to the chrome shop. My handles are beyond just doing a good polish..
I realized there is a roll pin that needs to come out. Best way to do that without damaging the handle is to carefully drill it out using an end mill. Then get the 2 parts chromed and reassemble with a new roll pin.

It’s a little bit of extra work, and cost to have them rechromed.
Worth the effort, or are the best reproductions that good, or just a “semi-decent” copies?

Thank you

1968 Shelby GT350/500/500KR / Front Bumper Bracket, function of welded tab?
« on: November 12, 2022, 02:40:39 PM »
tubular bumper bracket question:
The service replacement brackets have small tabs welded about 4 inches from the end (see photo)
I don’t recall these being on the production line bumper brackets. right?

What is the purpose of these “tabs”?
Thank you.

Wanted to Buy / 1968 Shelby GT500KR, 428CJ Fender Emblem NOS (2)

Wanted: S8MS 16098-G,  1968 Shelby 428 CobraJet Fender Emblem. Qty 2.
NOS very good condition.

Acsco directly sourced, will also be considered, if colors are correct.
It is my understanding that Acsco did much, if not all of the emblem and trim design & manufacturing for the later years.

Thank you.
