Seeking advice on what to use to plug the thermactor tube holes in a  428CJ head.
I know that  Ford offered a part number for that application.. when removing the smog setup.
FORD CYLINDER HEAD PLUG C6AZ-6052-A
Has anyone used them?
Comments or suggestions to use these or something else?
I'd like to have these plugs run down to the exhaust port surface and provide a direct exhaust exit with limited chamber turbulence.
Thanks

Photos of KR 4428 transmission mount.
Includes part number, engineering number and fomoco date code.
No paint on this car.

Is it safe to assume that the same person inspected and stamped the 3 "paint ok" points on the car?
So then the quality inspection was a final inspection after the fenders were installed ?

After a closer look.  I understand the decode of the car build order from Gotham.
The transmission was undefined per the order decode.
I'm guessing that was left up to what car was available.

Thank you Pete
That's what I thought,
The paperwork that confused me or didn't make sense are the documents  I got from Lois Eminger many years ago..
The Shelby Automotive inc order sheet had a September 10th date..Bill Kolb.. then an invoice dated September 16th.
So these cars delayed a few months from NJ build date to Shelby Automotive (AO Smith final assembly) completion.
How do I decode "D600F20A"
(See attached)
Thank you so much.

Trying to determine the originality of the fenders on my car.  The car was involved in an accident early in its life.. mostly in the  lower front section of car, but did damage the hood and that appears to have been replaced correctly.

The fender date codes are March, but the car is a September car (4428) Looking at the build sheet, it isn't obvious what the exact date is on that... text is offset from actual column. (See attached)
I think possibly the fenders were replaced. These fenders can be repaired correctly, but if they aren't original to the car, then I think I will chase down early NOS fenders and reduce the complexity of the metal work.
Comments greatly appreciated.

Requesting suggestions..what would you do...?
I'm finally working on my KR that has been parked for 40+ years.
This is a low mileage car with the complete emissions setup.
After much thought ...I decided to built it the way I wanted and enjoy the car.
I will be removing the emissions, keep the stock intake and carb.
The original exhaust manifolds will be removed and boxed with the complete emissions setup.

Engine will be balanced, adding ceramic free flow headers and a proper dual exhaust.
The rest of the car will be bone stock on this rust free car.

Should I keep the stock cam grind or ?
Anyone have a real world experience with a CJ ?
Thank you
Fran

This information is quite helpful and validates the information I've collected.
Thank you so much everyone!

Thank you Randy.
I would be interested in validating that my Shelby parts tranny has the correct main shaft.
I believe the Warner Gear book defines this as a Mustang Special 8-289.  23 13/16" OA S32-37-28 Spl. But I'm really not sure. Any input is appreciated, so I can sort out this parts  tranny...

I know that the Main Drive Gear (4th) is 8 15/16" long (26 tooth)

Information in a 1995 parts book published by Robert Lane that listed both the 65 and 66 GT350 transmission tag#s
1965: HEK-R or HEK-V
1966: HEK-AD
The application information says:
289k (engine)
Warner four speed, includes GT350
We all know the gears are different for the GT350.

I've seen other publications that don't include any information on transmission  tag #s

Is this information correct?
What is the significance of this designation?
  - just describing the basic transmission other than the high nickel gear sets?
        - case, tail shaft, main shaft tooth count, lengths?
I like to under this designation if anyone has a detailed understanding of the BW & Ford numbering for the GT350 Sebring Transmission.
Thanks
