Up For Auction / Re: Dark Moss Green/Parchment 1967 Gt500

I sent an email to the seller mentioning they may want to remove and only provide that Ford Vin to the truly serious of buyers! Amazing people don't realize and now it's out there for everyone to see! Nice car and I wish them well!

I love car spotting watching those old episodes! There's an Adam 12 episode "Million Dollar Buff" with Ed Begley, Jr as a young teenager stealing or swapping rims off a blue 1970 Shelby. The wife thinks I'm crazy as I point out all the Mustang's and Shelby's on the screen ! I like to call it my "comfort TV" as I watched all those shows when I was just a kid!

Wow! Very lofty asking price for sure...I recently sold a similar set of 4 in their original boxes (minus the correct 67 Shelby emblems) for about 1/10th of this Buy it Now price. They went to a friend restoring his 67 GT350 but I also told him he'd have better luck in finding Jim Morrisons missing Shelby than ever locating a correct set of NOS 67 Hubcap emblems. They just don't exist or at least I could never find them. This might be an item someone considers re-producing but I'm sure the market would barely cover the costs in making them available.

Appeals / Re: '67 K Codes
December 09, 2020, 05:51:51 PM
I recall reading somewhere the 67 289 Hipo engine option cost nearly twice as much than ordering the larger cubed 390 higher horsepower engine.  I would guess most folks went for more horsepower and saved money in 67 possibly.  I probably would have done the same thing! I am a big fan of the 67 K-codes and feel they have been somewhat underappreciated over the years. I have owned a couple but never had one with the Competition Suspension. They are definitely the rarest one's to find for 67.

1967 Shelby GT350/500 / Re: Best fitting car cover

I've used California Car Cover with no complaints. They have several different styles available for your needs.  I like their plush weave or comfort weave with flannel lining for indoors. It fit the 67 Shelby perfectly and they also made one for my father's 32 Chevrolet and the fit was really nice. Good luck in your search!

So are you selling or restoring the car for yourself?

Nice find but yes it's a dilemma....If you were going to end up with a more than 95% original car including factory born drive train and body once restored ....then I wouldn't mind paying a premium for the right restoration candidate.  Is this a car you've always wanted or is it simply going up for sale once finished?  I have no idea what the seller wants but I could easily see someone not familiar with restoration costs willing to spend $65K to $75K just to say they now own a KR in need of restoration.  I mean if you can purchase for around $45K or so it might be worth it with your available resources but I doubt the seller is anywhere near this figure. I wish you well in your decision and it's nice to know these projects are still out there waiting to be found. David
