1969-1970 Shelby GT350/500 / Re: Shelby Side stripe Location
« on: July 24, 2019, 02:03:53 PM »
I never noticed this side marker lamp issue with the stripes before, but I do now! So the stripe is to be centered in the middle of the front scoop and the rear marker?

Deathled, sorry to hear about the loss of your friend. I've had to go through it many times and it never gets easier. I hope you can get to the other emotional side, as soon as possible. Take care.

KAsearch, welcome. I'm from the Mother Mopar camp from way back and, like you, have acquired a liking for Shelbys. I'm glad you have your first Shelby. Mine is still off in the future.

A local truck place? The kind that build monster trucks or 18 wheelers? That is a good question, CBoss. I didn't stop to think about sourcing another drive shaft if I needed or wanted another one for a Shelby. I guess they were the same or longer/shorter than the Mustang ones? Did T-birds use the same one or any other Ford product use the same one or where they special only to the Shelbys? I need to hang out in the concours section again, for a while.

Did some or all of the Shelby Gts come with tube headers? Let me see if I remember what I have learned so far . . . is that a big block fuel pump? I'm still learning Ford parts.
65/66 came with tube headers. Small block 65 type aftermarket pump in picture. Stay after school and study some more. LOL

yes sir. (skulking, head down) :-\

Hey, nice, new frame. Is that going to be heavier than the original style one? It'll be nice and stiff.

I have ran into many, many unscrupulous, low-down, con men/women on feebay. You really have to do your homework. I've sent some messages to these "thieves" as I often refer to them as, that have gotten me into trouble with feebay, because the con men have very sensitive feelings.

Up For Auction / Re: 65 cragars on EBay -not mine

I really like this style. A little similar to a pair I saw on a never-registered '63 Dodge 330 factory racer. These were for the '65 and '66 models?

Concours Talk / Re: Big block and smallblock fuelpump diferance
« on: February 06, 2019, 07:12:58 PM »
Yep, just the beginning. I really like different parts from the different years of '67, '68, '69-'70. I want a convertible, but the didn't make them in '67. I like the '67's a lot. The 10 spokes are great, but they didn't come on the '69-'70 models. I like the '67 steering wheel the best and the exhaust of the '69-'70 models is the best. What is a guy to do?

GT/CS - California Special / Re: Share your 68 GT/CS photos

Wow, that was a very interesting story. I wonder how long they had been buying and hording those gold coins? The new owner should've replaced the exhaust system with a factory replacement, because of how untouched the car is with such low mileage.

1968 Shelby GT350/500/500KR / Re: Floor mats
« on: January 09, 2019, 09:52:59 AM »
Floor mats were in the ford dealer accessories catologs that came out every year with newer products & dealer add ons u could order & buy from your ford dealer. The koolest floor mats made were the c9az pasiley mats in different wild color patterns with ford oval & a gt 40 car moulded in the mats in the center these mats came out in 69 but never lasted very long just to wild looking but thats why they are KOOL. On the sides you could trim them off for a convertible since they have both moulded in lines for hardtop or convertible & on backside it tells u where to trim them. I found several sets of pasiley mats in old ford dealer attics back in the 80s since they didnt sell well as they were just to wild looking & back in 69-70 chrysler made flower power floor mats that were also wild looking & you would find them in mopars that had the Mod Top option flowered vinyl tops with mod top decals on rear window.
Mr. Ed, why did someone need to trim the mats for a convertible? Was the floor pans a little more narrower?
