Time to stand up AMERICA.
He has not been the same after they forced him out of the tonight show. He made BO jokes, thus the NBC bigwigs were told to get rid of him and look what we have.
Actually Leno's Garage is really not worth watching either. I like my cars, but to keep this hobby going, you don't have some super rich guy showing off cars that normal people will never be able to have.

To be clear there is a big gaping hole in the frame by the steering box. I have never seen a 69 rust there-I did have a 1971 Challenger RT/SE V-code rust in that same exact spot in 1980. So what about other areas? I'd say you will be doing some structural repair before you drop any engine into it. A friend has a list with Ed on parts for his B9. As far as I know some of those parts are not out there right now so buying this and then buying the boatload of  parts to make it a complete car just might not be possible. It is like musical chairs on Boss 429 parts. Last one in......

Buy one done, you will be "miles" ahead. I had a Boss9 back in the 80's, original survivor car, it hads one b9 part missing, it was so long ago that I cannot remember, minor part, but I am sure $$$$ today.
Just to be clear, I would have to get that car for free, locate and buy at least 125K of parts, (ford parts),  I know my guy in Upstate NY would be at least another 175K plus to do the metal/finish work......that is at least 300K, then there is the saying, "now you know what you got"....Nah, you can find a nice one for less and be driving it OR while you age another year waiting for this one to be done. (that's a year waiting for it to be done, after you get this one home, and start buying/looking for all the parts, that would not happen overnight). Thus it might be 3 years before you can see this car done.
As far as the metal work on this car? You just don't throw CJP parts on it and call it good, it will not be right.

I just wonder why???? To restore this car, (not a back yard, hobby type), I mean a top notch restoration, it would simply be better to buy one that is already "there" or a driver quality one....and have it in your garage to start up and drive, or if you prefer trailer to a show.
I bought a Boss years ago in parts/rotted. FIVE shops and 10 years later, it was done, but I would NEVER do that again. NEVER!
That car unless, it sells for less than it is at now, would not be worth it. I would guess, to CORRECTLY RESTORE it, you are looking at 200K more. Guess what, Bosses have come down greatly. Try hunting the correct original Ford parts.
Why did the owner pick a place that makes it so hard to place a bid? I mean, this is a ebay car, put it on ebay and let Tom, Dick, and or Harry try to out do each other. It might do more there.
Personally, and I have no affiliation to him, but I would Have a guy like Stephen Becker find me a nice one and just pay him the money, I bet you will be close to that after jerking around with this one, and you can "use" it however you want as soon as it is delivered!

A new era of, "One just like it went for, (insert stupid price here), mine got to be worth that!" This has been going on forever.

Many "happy" people at BJ and M auctions, ebay will be in the mix also, but it is not that much fun drinking in your easy chair as opposed in front of a camera on speed week....Auction your car off with a super high reserve, like a MILLION, with a opening bid of 1.00, see where it ends up, (TMV or True Market Value).

Insurance paid the owner, end of story. When the car surfaced, that is when a red flag should have gone off and the police should have been involved. We are missing that chapter. BUT (Perhaps the car was bought at a recovery auction) thus the new owner is the legal owner. Many owner's later we see it at auction. Might not bother some. Might bother some? Maybe it is just the history of the car? If you choose to be involved with that history. BIG QUESTION, where is the original TAG??? On what car unknown to SAAC. The body of this car is known, the TAG and perhaps some car in another country? Is not know to SAAC, and when it is found out......
???

I really do not see a problem with any car's history as long as SAAC knows and people who come here can be educated about a car or their car.
SPEAKING OF THAT.....I want my 67 (new) Registry! LOL

Market value is dropping. ................

What sale or sales are you comparing this sale to?

Some have been going for a lot less, not all , but some. I got my car cheaper than some, and I have seen others go for less than most on here would like to see. It is a sign of the times. I got my car because I like it, not because it will "double in value" in a few years, those days are going, going, gone!

Ford GT / Re: New Ford GT destroyed in L.A. crash

05 and 06 FGT's are often referred to as "New GT" the newer ones are also referred to as "New GT" so unless it stated it, it can be 05 to present. When I refer to my car as a new GT, people think it is a Mustang.

But I digress, that accident does not sound like it has a good result. I hope I am wrong. It is not a good sign to read that someone was lying on the ground motionless. I hope they are alright.

I can only speak for my 06. That car can get away from you anytime, you have to respect it. I am older and I think wiser and i will say the things I have done in the 80's with my GT350 were crazy, if I only used half throttle and did the same stufff in my 06, I would not be here to write this. High speed mistakes are not that forgivable.

Pray for the best!
