THAT is a hell of a leave. 9 second car for sure.

I would ask. At the time it had a 427 TP, later it had a SOHC!

Oh, it IS a real 68 Shelby.

Tell you what though, that license plate LIGHT sure is "over engineered "....

Back in day we was not alowed to use this licence plate format. The normal format was 4,3 X 20,5.

You could get a plate in the format of 13,4 X 8,3 if you applied for it. This plate did not always fit a US made car, so you had to modify it a little. This modification was not legal, so you often got a ticket from the police.

Corvette owners had a bigger problem with the front plate!

Licence plate light was mandatory, and if the DMV told you it was not good enough you had to get a bigger and 'better' one!

Thing has improved, so now we are alowed to use US plate format.

Hey, I'm a '68 guy!
Brain fart from being cooped up inside for too long.
Thank you for the reminder.

Actually,  I would like to know more about the Shelby (this is a Shelby focused site, after all) and the story behind why it was picked as the competition.  There has got to a good bar bet story here. 8)

Not sure, but I would think that the owner of the Shelby is also the new owner of the combine.

Okay, who is the SAAC member that provided his car for this event?  There is a SAAC sticker on the driver front quarter window:

And the Shelby VIN?
