1967 Shelby GT350/500 / Distributor Question
February 17, 2020, 09:15:44 AM
My buddy and I were installing a Pertronix Ignitor HEI kit in my GT-350 yesterday.

While in the process, noticed a little play on the shaft. Would this just be bushing wear after all these years I'm thinking.

Can the bushing or bushings be replaced ?

Thanks,

BG

Bob,

Thanks for the info.... if all 3 are turn, brake and running in parallel, I think I know a local that can check mine.

If not I'll contact you.

Thanks again,

BG

All 3 (each side) are tail, brake and turn. no segmenting.

Ro..ro.....

Mine are on a schedule all their own. They look like they have been wired in Vegas !!!

Is there a stock schematic somewhere......?

Thanks guys.... for a while there I was second guessing myself obviously.

So since we are on these ...... outside is turn indicator, inside is running and lights, and all 3 is brake ?

1967 Shelby GT350/500 / Dumb Question ?
February 13, 2020, 03:09:24 PM
Am I wrong, but '67s don't have sequential rear turn signals ..... do they ?

I was always under the impression they came out in the '68s ..... but I'm seeing references to the otherwise......

Thanks,

So far I haven't got a useful answer :'(. If it's not original, why? Thanks to all, Roman

I had the same problem with my elite report last year ....... and when it finally showed, I had to take to a local frame shop to have most of the framework redone. The guy at the shop commented it looked like it was done by a 14 year old.... on his first day.  I wasn't impressed at all..... and the Ford VIN tag is still not centered, but he couldn't do anything with that unless he ripped it off the mat and started over.

I have a buddy in No. CA who has the identical intake in pic 1.

Is it original or older reproduction ?

Thanks,

Funny thing that I saw in the staging line while at BJ. The K code was being sold by a restorer who came over to me as he saw me checking the engine bay out. He started to brag how many he had done before. I had a hard time keeping a straight face while listening to him and after seeing the things I saw. My eye was drawn to what looked like carriage bolts with the tops ground flat that held the coil spring cover. I wondered why he had to do that ? Apparently the hood was hitting them when closed. Why would that happen? I could not keep from breaking into a grin when I saw that the hood bumpers were installed upside down  ;D .I wondered how hard that would have been to install them from under the fender and in what reality that would seem to make sense. I have never seen that done before.

Modified .... it's on the Marti report !

Even at $300.-    I might just have a little 'buyers remorse' ......

Bruce Meyers would be my off the wall guess.

Regarding the potential of a restoration .......  even at a paltry $3.75M in the grand scheme, it's only original once.

I wouldn't waste your time with the generic after market auto parts store replacements. I have help literally hundreds of people with this question over the years.  It is almost a guarantee that the auto parts store or even ones from Mustang venders will not fit or look even close to the factory one. Some of the better company's handle the blue dot brand or you can buy them direct. Just make sure they are the Blue Dot brand. Years ago i gave them assemblyline examples as patterrns and they did a very good job.  67 GT 350 P/S hoses are different then 67 289/302 regular Mustang P/S hose's. Don't let anyone tell you different. .

Good information Bob..... thank you.

How can you tell the difference in an Eaton and Ford pump ?  I have a line that I believe has a drip so I am going to replace them all since I have no idea how old they are......
