I completed one of these 1/8 scale '67 Shelbys but added a few details under the hood. Especially corrected the wrong firing order. Fabricated the plug wires from mini black wires from old music headsets.
Fabricated my own firewall wiring, solenoid(complete with wires and nuts), heater hoses, hoses to the windshield water bottle, added a fabricated fuel pump, added more detail to the oil filter with the addition of an autolite decal. Added fuel lines for both carbs and also the heat tube as well. Detailed the brake master cylinder and the brake booster.
Added a trunk mat and detailed the wheels with black background.

Who cares, that is a great price for a real gt500 with a stick, if I was in the market I would buy it.
+1, It is a good price for a 500 4 speed from Cali.

Yes, being a California car alone is worth the price! I was spoiled growing up in Los Angeles we would pass on a car if it had a dime size hole in the lower quarter and we would call it a "rust bucket". With the number of Shelby's running around today with "bodies by China" it's nice to see a solid car.
I've owned a few Calif cars and being in the rust belt I really appreciated the solid bodies and none pitted components and not breaking bolts taking the cars apart. My favorite one was a full resto I did on a 69 Mach1 DSOed out of Los Angeles. 4 speed shaker zero rust car. The latch support which was original was stamped "Made De Mexico".

Love that color on mach 1's!
Indian Fire red? Someone at our local Toyota dealer in 1985 traded an Indian Fire red on a Toyota. I went NUTS and went to check my bank account and didn't have enough, went to my Dad in law, went back with cash.......It was gone :(  Price, $3295!!

I'm reminded of one of Jim Osborne's cars, a white GT500KR convertible, if my memory doesn't fail me, that caught fire while his son was driving it on the way to a show back in the '90's.  Seems the electric top motor shorted out and, before it was discovered, the car became engulfed in flames.  It was a total loss but they brought it back from the "dead" to full concours condition. It can be done!
That exactly entered my mind as well. Being from the south here, I remember that very well.

6R07mi was looking to id a '65 GT350 in this thread "Trying to ID 65 GT350 CA black plate NJR 785" didn't want to side track that thread, looking through my files I came across this one, looks to be a '65,  10spokes,   flares front & rear,   maybe R model front valance ? pic is dated '74. looking at the vegetation, maybe SW,  Any ideas ?

Mike

Mike,
Just looking at this photo, is that a rocker molding? If it is then would that suggest this may be a "shelby-ized" regular mustang?
it appears to have later body colored "racing mirrors" aka 69 / 70, so beside the non-original GT350 stripe, 66 side scoops on a 65 body, I don't see any other SAI GT350 features.

not conclusive but more likely not an authentic GT350??

thanks

The "3" is crooked ;D

Beautiful.Hard to believe that is original black paint.Amazingcolor combo. 8)

It might not be original paint. Very well could be though considering the low miles.
His claim says the paint is 59 yrs old.

They look like factory Mopar rims from probably late 60's or early 70's.  Not 100% sure.

Craig R.
Mopar rims have 10 slots, so I'm thinking AMC.
