Well its been a long time since I started this thread. But after almost 3 years of ownership, I'm finally starting disassembly of 2227. Today I removed one of the side scoops and wanted to share my finding on the rivet design. As I was told years ago, the side scoop only has 2 rivets. One on top and another on the bottom located closest to the opening. The rivet is two parts and plastic. The hole in the body of the car is about 5/16 of an inch and hole in fiberglass scoop very similar in size. The rivet assembly has an insert which goes in first and then the rivet rod part is pushed into the insert.   I will load several pictures of the plastic rivet. Previous owner of my car left it sitting since late 70's or early 80's- very unmolested. what I'm listing may be common knowledge, but the mounting and design configuration surprised me. I will load pictures after this post. In good faith everything Im reporting is what I've observed.  Thank you for reading, Fred

Hello from Alabama too. Another detail of an original or older over-the-counter pan, would be the oil pan bolt holes. I will post a picture displaying this feature.  There is an extra machined surface.... you will not see in reproductions. Hopefully it is noticeable in my loaded photo.  Merry GT 350 Christmas.  FRED

Thank you Jeff. I always enjoy reading  your posts\responses within our forum.  In photo # 4, what does the 133 and 16 denote? I'm just curious what those numbers represent? It may not be generally known?  Either way, thank you for your response! Fred

BTW- I have a question about my original San Jose firewall interior insulation. Could I P.M. you and ask a question dealing with possible restoration\reuse? I greatly value your advise.

So, after almost 3 years of ownership I've started disassembly of my GT350. Very exciting time for me. What I'm about to share my not be interesting to anyone but thought someone in our forum might enjoy? Once I finish full disassembly, plan to vacuum complete car and wash  well. Once super clean, my intent is to identify all markings and then measure/photograph each before soda blasting. During restoration plan to replace all markings. All four pictures are taken on the outside of the engine bay (both sides). I will try to load pics in the order in which identified.
1st-  yellow 32-31 located RH side frame rail.
2nd - large yellow D on outside battery tray area inner fender
3rd- yellow  21311 located LH frame rail under main fuel line
4th - white 133 & 16 outside engine bay near where hood hinge bolts LH side

question - did I miss any markings? specifically outside engine bay? until I clean the whole car it will be hard to see any other assembly line marking. My car has been sitting, mostly untouched\unmolest, since late 70's or early 80's.

thank you for your time, Fred

Yes Steve - I saw you and a fellow 1966 GT350 owner at the national ford show this year in Carlisle Pa. Thank you for making me feel welcomed. I hope the next few SAAC conventions will be located more eastern.  Road Atlanta would be a great location! California too far to haul my car for display, but after I retire will fly and attend future western conventions. I live in Alabama.
Thanks Fred

I wish - Not this year. I plan to retire in the next 18 months, Then I will attend multiple conventions. (love see one in Atlanta) I typically go to the national ford show in Carlisle each year and didn't see any real GT350 tail emblems.

Thank you Mr. Speegle for keeping me honest. I will take additional pictures of both scoops and all rivets which have washers. I've not looked in my cars side scoops in over a year. I was just going by memory, at 57 , not as good when younger. It might just have the single washer as described earlier but I do THINK there are more than a single washer, on one of the scoops,  time will soon tell. I'm at work right now and rather taking a lunch today- went to the SAAC forum for fun reading when I made that post. If it turns out I'm not accurate with my first post, no malice intended! I was just posting quickly because my lunch was coming to an end.  I do appreciate this forum! Fred
