1969-1970 Shelby GT350/500 / steering wheel wrap
September 12, 2023, 09:02:25 AM
Does anyone have a good pic of an original wheel wrap with the "500" on it? Any sources out there other than you might get lucky on Ebay for one? Thanks. Gary

1969-1970 Shelby GT350/500 / cannister bracket
August 02, 2023, 10:33:04 AM
So I'm looking at pics of a car and I'd say original metal but it doesn't have the space saver cannister bracket. When did they start using the brackets on 69s? This car was built 2/27/1969. Was the canister on those cars mounted like I see here under the tire? Thanks.

SAAC-48 / Track pics from SAAC 48
July 19, 2023, 12:54:22 PM
Took a lot of track pics. Some were from my Iphone zoom. Some I blew up and cropped from the track. One day I might invest in a good camera. It was a great weekend. I was with my oldest son who suggested we go to the convention. There is nothing better than spending quality time with your kids especially doing things that you like. Next stop for us is taking his Daughters(my Grand daughters) to MIS on August 5 and 6 for the NASCAR races.

1969-1970 Shelby GT350/500 / Fender apron
July 07, 2023, 07:24:46 AM
When did the ribbed(rev limiter) DS front apron start showing up on Dearborn cars?

I created a Facebook page about a year ago for 69-70 Shelbys. Bill S. And I run it. I know many do not do Facebook  and understandably why but if you do then there is a page specifically for 69-70s. Gary

Do all 1969 Shelby wheels have date stamps on the inner rims? Any other identifiers? Thanks. Gary

Concours Talk / original export braces
June 01, 2023, 07:35:35 AM
Was the service part export brace that Ford sold the same as the braces on later 67-70 Shelbys? I know repos are different in their stamping but what about the Ford service parts of the 70-90s? Thanks. Gary

1968 Shelby GT350/500/500KR / Header brackets.
May 22, 2023, 02:01:05 PM
So in both of these pics the header brackets are mounted wrong, correct? Thanks. Gary

When did the ribbed Rev limiter DS front apron start showing up on Shelbys and when did the upper firewall being blacked out start appearing? Is there an exact date for both that has been found since all were done at Dearborn? Thanks. Gary

Can I have some clarification as why the topic was removed? WHO removed it and for what reason. Some of us spent time posting pics and facts on this rare pilot car only to have someone delete the whole topic? From my emails it was locked, then unlock then locked again and unlocked again etc.. WHY would a moderator do this? Seems to me there was a lot of good info for some not around at this point to read and for others out there wanting to learn more. So who deleted the topic?

1969-1970 Shelby GT350/500 / GT350 air cleaner
February 10, 2023, 10:11:31 AM
This is a piece I don't think I've ever seen discussed. So did the air cleaners change at all during the model year? Second how were they painted? Were they all blue or was there black on the inside where the filter sat? I'd like to see some pics of original air cleaners if possible including their crimp nuts for the snorkel screws. Thanks. Gary

1969-1970 Shelby GT350/500 / original core supports.
January 05, 2023, 10:59:04 AM
Looking at the69  King Cobra race car for sale in the Mecum auction got me to thinking about core supports: Did Shelby fastbacks Being 63C builds have their core supports drilled for hood pins and lanyards? The King Cobra has them drilled out.

Appeals / enhancing a photo

Is it possible to enhance this photo? Many years ago I tried blowing it up to read the Goodyear tires on it. Any help is appreciated. Thanks.

SAAC Forum Discussion Area / is this a joke?
December 16, 2022, 01:59:54 PM
Mecum puts the estimate at 75-100K. I fully understand the barn find "patina" look. This is more of the beat up car all around. I just don't get it. I do for a car that has been bagged with a state of the art suspension. A coyote engine. new interior but not this. At 75-100K I'm SMH... https://www.mecum.com/lots/FL0123-539218/1958-ford-fairlane-custom/
