Sometimes that trunk light male lead was taped to the trunk lid underneath. Also there would be paint on the wire loom also. See pic for taped off area

The vacuum tree is present on every other dual diaphragm application as far as I can tell, but I will do some further research
Besides my car and a GG 4 speed car that a fellow GM engineer has owned since about 1982-3 I confirmed with him that the dual advance and plug where the vacuum tree would go were never on his car when he bought it. There would be no reason for cars like ours to have someone pull it off of our original engines and put the same plug in that hole. We both had our original carbs also. I will try and find more cars out there.

Pete, I do not think a vacuum tree is used with a non air dual advance 70 4 speed  351. My car didn't have nor did a friends car and we were both owners since the 80s(me 85 and him 82).Air cars yes, non air cars, no.

George told he's from New Orleans!  Sometimes I wish I could confront these scammers.
A good friend of mine has spent probably 10s of thousands(10-20-30K?) on NOS parts from club/forum members without being scammed once. I posted wanted ads for him. Got a few scammers over the last 2 years. Most selling parts here are usually known by others. Ask for references or talk on the phone. No phone beware.  Also ask if they have that part that doesn't exist-it worked for my friend in one of the instances. If they say "yes I do!" then you know the drill. Good luck on your parts search. Lets be clear here on the origin. The AU threw me. Is it a play for Aussies who buy a lot from here? The seller has it listed in Saint Petersburg Florida as well as his other items for sale. What is weird is that I always saw St. Petersburg nor SAINT which I think is odd. Anyways for clarity here is what the guy says about himself(copied from auction). I am a married dad of four. I quit my job a few years ago to sell on eBay full time. My other job is pastoring a Church in Florida. I'm not some large corporation, just a regular guy making his way for his family. I have a fun time exploring and finding things to sell on eBay. I scour estate sales, garages, attics and anywhere to find many unique and rare items. I jokingly say that I am a minister for "orphaned objects", finding them new homes where they will be used and enjoyed.

I was told $121,000 plus 10% buyers premium.
Thanks. I couldn't find the results on their page. It was not far from me but being on a Tuesday morning didn't work.

MCA has(had) classes concours driven and concours trailered. Both you get knocked down the same for incorrectness but there was some leeway for driving? I can't remember but maybe bugs in radiator or a chip? Either way I drove my car to the 2003 MCA meet in Dearborn(25 miles) and tried to enter in trailered but they said since it was driven it would be in the driven class. Scored a gold(685 out of 700) and have been driving my car since. Never owned a trailer.

Was the spare tire/jack/handle tie down process done with the usual J hook/wingnut or was there a "strap" that went over the tire-for '69
The hook was Shelby unique https://www.scottfullerreproductions.com/catalog/item/4595229/6752241.htm

The base of the snake should be directly over the valve stem hole. If not, they likely been refurbished in some way or another way to explain it is a vertical line drawn through the center of the snake points directly to the valve stem hole. The emblems were originally indexed

Those damn "concourse" guys screw everything up for the normal guys, lol 😂

Welcome to advanced hubcap class !
those hubcaps I had the center emblems and the caps themselves had 40 years of patina in my book when I got them. I believe some not shown are indexed but don't have all my pics on this CPU of those old hubcaps.  Maybe they were assembled Friday after lunch or Monday morning?  ;D ;D ;D

i always thought finding pristine centers was the challenge.  The pie plates are stainless, and dents can be fixed by the right person
I know a guy who vacations in Florida in the winter who has a 68 . A few years back he goes to a swap meet and a guy has some 68 hubcaps. He talks to the guy and finds out he had a lot of them. I believe he bought all of them. He wouldn't say a price and I didn't ask but he said he got a great deal on them. Here is his car he drives.
If he bought a lot of original Shelby hubcaps you would think that he would have seen the distinct pattern of how the right side up snake emblem lines up with the valve stem on the factory caps unlike the ones in the picture. He couldn't see the forest for the trees I guess. At least it sounds like he got a deal on some hubcaps.
Bob, here are some original hub caps. I don't see a distinct pattern. Do these have the pattern you are talking about?
