There would be no reason for cars like ours to have someone pull it off of our original engines and put the same plug in that hole. We both had our original carbs also. I will try and find more cars out there.
Gary
The vacuum tree is present on every other dual diaphragm application as far as I can tell, but I will do some further research
Quote from: 1969shelbygt350 on September 23, 2022, 10:15:28 PMA good friend of mine has spent probably 10s of thousands(10-20-30K?) on NOS parts from club/forum members without being scammed once. I posted wanted ads for him. Got a few scammers over the last 2 years. Most selling parts here are usually known by others. Ask for references or talk on the phone. No phone beware. Also ask if they have that part that doesn't exist-it worked for my friend in one of the instances. If they say "yes I do!" then you know the drill. Good luck on your parts search. Gary
George told he's from New Orleans! Sometimes I wish I could confront these scammers.
Quote from: Fast Fords on September 22, 2022, 03:29:11 PMThanks. I couldn't find the results on their page. It was not far from me but being on a Tuesday morning didn't work.
I was told $121,000 plus 10% buyers premium.
Quote from: Coralsnake on September 22, 2022, 06:55:44 AMI think the seller is reading this topic and put a "Strange" price tag on them. I've seen that on parts before.
Look at what those "Concourse" guys are doing now!!!

Was the spare tire/jack/handle tie down process done with the usual J hook/wingnut or was there a "strap" that went over the tire-for '69
Quote from: Coralsnake on September 20, 2022, 07:06:53 AMthose hubcaps I had the center emblems and the caps themselves had 40 years of patina in my book when I got them. I believe some not shown are indexed but don't have all my pics on this CPU of those old hubcaps. Maybe they were assembled Friday after lunch or Monday morning?
The base of the snake should be directly over the valve stem hole. If not, they likely been refurbished in some way or another way to explain it is a vertical line drawn through the center of the snake points directly to the valve stem hole. The emblems were originally indexed
Those damn "concourse" guys screw everything up for the normal guys, lol 😂
Welcome to advanced hubcap class !
Quote from: Bob Gaines on September 19, 2022, 03:00:44 PMBob, here are some original hub caps. I don't see a distinct pattern. Do these have the pattern you are talking about?Quote from: shelbymann1970 on September 19, 2022, 01:59:01 PMIf he bought a lot of original Shelby hubcaps you would think that he would have seen the distinct pattern of how the right side up snake emblem lines up with the valve stem on the factory caps unlike the ones in the picture. He couldn't see the forest for the trees I guess. At least it sounds like he got a deal on some hubcaps.Quote from: KDunne on September 19, 2022, 01:34:46 PMI know a guy who vacations in Florida in the winter who has a 68 . A few years back he goes to a swap meet and a guy has some 68 hubcaps. He talks to the guy and finds out he had a lot of them. I believe he bought all of them. He wouldn't say a price and I didn't ask but he said he got a great deal on them. Here is his car he drives.
i always thought finding pristine centers was the challenge. The pie plates are stainless, and dents can be fixed by the right person
