SAAC Forum Requests / Re: Error Message?

Chris, I figured if I posted the error message here, that the administrator would surely see it, and respond. I already resized the photo to be well within the limits. Thanks Denny

Here's an error message I keep getting while trying to post, what am I doing wrong?

The upload folder is full. Please try a smaller file and/or contact an administrator.

What is the "Shelby Unified Registry"? I never heard of that one. Thanks

Hi Dave, It's a square nut unit. I can't see the date code the way it's positioned now. Wait till I remove it, and I'll check. I'll keep you posted. Denny

Thanks everyone for your insight into the sending units. I've attached a better photo of my unit so you can see the manufacturer's mark of "KS" within a circle.

Hi Brant, I do follow the posts on your blog, I love the photos, and your shop does incredible work. Maybe someday Maple Hill will have 6S1568 there too. I'm not done driving it yet. Thanks for sharing. Denny

1966 Shelby GT350/GT350H / Oil Pressure Sending Unit
March 21, 2018, 07:21:54 PM
My oil pressure sending unit seems to have developed a small crack in the housing, causing a drop of oil to leak out of it, down the extension and onto the floor.

I'm not sure if it is an original sending unit, the only identification mark I can see is a small circled KS on the cone near the wire connector post.

Is this an original unit?
Does anyone know where to get a correct replacement?

Thanks, Denny

I didn't see the SFM number or the VIN plate pictured, anyone know the car's number?

Bob, Once again thanks for sharing your knowledge regarding these 50+ year old machines. You can clearly see the difference in the automatic and four speed versions with your photos. I'll look for the C5 engineering number next. Denny

Soon after my Father retired, he purchased number 86 on the list, a 1990 Chevrolet Lumina APV. White in color of course because they were in Florida at the time. He really liked the van because it could seat his golf buddies and their bags comfortably. Other than that, yep POS.

The ink stamp is long gone, if there ever was one, and I don't know if it's the original starter for the car or a replacement. So.........is there a FOMOCO stamping, or some identifying marks somewhere on the starter that I can look for, to determine if its an original one or not? Thanks, Denny

Good one Jay, I wonder what the tachometer was reading at that moment in time?

Nooboob, The Tachometer on 6S1568 nearly touches the inside of the windshield glass. It's so close to the glass that you might think its resting against the glass, but you can slide an envelope between the top of the tach and the glass, it's that close. The tach sits firmly on the dash pad and does not even vibrate enough to rattle off the glass when in motion. I don't know if there was a stencil or how they determined where to drill the pilot holes, but the technicians at S.A. have it placed perfectly. If I were you, I'd tweak the base just enough to keep it from rubbing while using the original holes for your screws. Good luck. Denny

Hey Richstang, What was the story on the "Lawman"? I never heard of it. They dropped it while loading? Denny
