Did all 65 and 66's have a drive shaft loop intalled new at Shelby?

I am rebuilding my water pump and want to change the seal.  I don't need the whole kit, I just need the seal.  Does anyone know where I can get it?  Thanks, Greg

The Lounge / Barn Find... Extravaganza
March 12, 2018, 04:15:32 PM
Is there anyone besides me tired of the "barn find" hype.  Oh my, don't forget to leave the dirt, mice droppings and bird crap on it.  That shows everyone how rare it is to see a dirty car that was stored improperly in a barn.  Seriously, pretty much every barn find I have found were rusty hulks, hence the reason for the "barn find" status.  How about a concrete floor "Garage find" :)

I'm curious as to what others do.  Personnelly, as my time allows, I do my own metal and mechanicals but I don't lay paint.  What do you do?

I am looking for the panel that is between the rear seat back and the trap door.  Thanks, Greg

Why did Shelby go from 15" rims for the 65 GT350 to 14" rims in 66?

I have owned both kinds of cars, but I have really grown to love the small block.  Don't get me wrong, the rumble and look of a 428 or 427 is great, but the driveability and "friendliness" of a small block has bent me toward them more.  I'm interested in hearing others views.

If yes, what were your take aways.  I'm not versed in 70 Shelby's and wondered what was good and bad with this one.

Thanks,

The Lounge / Stories regarding 427 or 289 cobras.
February 16, 2018, 08:15:55 PM
For all those that were enjoying these cars "back in the day", I'm curious, was a 66 427 or 289 cobra an affordable and relatively "easy to find" hot rod in terms of 70's money or really expensive to most people back then?  As I understand it, the average wage was around $8K and wondered if for most people these cars were out of financial reach.  I'm sure some of you have great stories to tell of deals of the day.

1966 Shelby GT350/GT350H / 5 speed trans options
February 12, 2018, 04:06:24 PM
Hello, My Shelby is a nice driver (or was as I have pulled the engine out to go through it  :)).  It will be a few years before I tear the car down completely but I want it to be interstate friendly now.  I have the T10M aluminum trans (which I am obviously keeping) but I am thinking about putting a 5 speed in it for now just to drop the RPMS on the highway.  This would allow me to drive it for 3-4 hours away to car shows and not run 3,000 rpms at 75MPH.  I'm not cutting any holes as the old girl has lasted this long without molestation and I'm not going to be the first.  I just want a simple trans change without structural changes so the engine isn't screaming for an extended period.

Any advice?

thanks, Greg

Looking for a good original Shelby intake that hasn't been repaired, ported, cracked and threads are good.  Thank you for your time.
