That would be the Lexan compatible adhesive to glue the window to the frame.

Bought an NOS pad last week. Thank you for checking. Will forward your info to a friend who is looking for a passenger side if that is OK?

Thanks again!

Don't know how I missed it in the Assembly Manuals? Saw the quarter window drawing, but missed the door drawing. Now all I need is the best available deluxe armrests. Any input besides finding excellent used? Would like to find a drivers side.

My original door panels on my 68 KR were getting a bit shabby, so I decided to replace with what is regarded the best reproduction panels available. I bought the TMI panels and they look very nice. There are however a few issues to be aware. They are as follows:

1.) The reproduction panels are ever so slightly smaller towards the interior front of the car. Be sure to cut back your watershields enough so they are not exposed. Learned the hard way on my passenger side! Had to use an Exacto knife to trim them back. No big deal, but much easier just to use scissors and cut back before installation.

2.) The bigger issue is an interference with a flat washer head fastener that hold the regulator to the door. This fastener is below the rear pull strap and directly interferes with the door panel. The original door panels have a circular relief at this location, allowing them to fit flusher. Again, learned the hard way on the passenger side. I'm going to try to add this circular relief on the drivers side and maybe hit the fastener with a grinder to minimize the interference.

3.) Be sure to orient the door panel clips in the correct direction and test fit, as I had one clip that was too far off of the door hole to use. The cutout in the door panel backer material was off by the size of the clip. I guess I could have drilled a new hole in the door, but the location was on the bottom of the panel near the rear and the other clips are holding the panel tight.

I was planning on using the original deluxe armrests, however my passenger side is just starting to split. How are the reproductions? I'm trying to use all the original pieces that I can. I bought the reproduction armrest plugs, but the originals look better in my opinion. The grain and fit looks better.

Any input on the reproduction armrests will be appreciated.

Is there any factory orientation of the window regulator for the up and down positions? In the up position, I have my window regulators pointing towards the door handle. Could not locate anything to verify if there is a specific orientation or if it was completely random?

Hope this may be of help to others if planning a door panel replacement.

Send me an email at gt350bp@bellsouth.net and I'll send you my notes and installation sketches. These were the most difficult part to install on my car, as I was not happy with the fit. Had to re-bend the frames for a better fit to the window opening. Took me two weekends to get the fit that I wanted without a big gap.

The trail has run cold in Canton, Ohio about two years ago. Any help or info on this Mach 1 will be appreciated.

I use 215 70 x 15 on the front and 255 60 x 15 on the rear of my KR. These fill the openings and no rub, as the front wheel lip moldings have been trimmed. My original service records for my car indicated that the E 70 x 15 tires were rubbing from the factory.

The SW Service Instructions indicate that the 240 A pump be mounted no more than 24" above the fuel level.

Rodney,

Good morning!

I sold the car to Jack's Ford in Sarver, PA and the car sat in the showroom and in Ronnie Jacks personal collection for years. I heard it was sold on E-Bay, but had lost track by then. When I sold it, I had just restored the car and it only had 26 miles after the restoration when Ronnie made me an offer when I stopped by the dealership. A salesman drove me home for the title and spare parts. Sold the car to fund my 65 R-Model replica project that I still have.

Please keep me posted. Thank you.

Looking for my 1970 Mach 1 that I sold back in the late 1980's. Last seen in the Akron / Youngstown, Ohio area about 5 years ago. Car is yellow with black deluxe interior with gray inserts and standard hood with turn signals. The car is a 351-C with 4-spd, console and no tachometer. I had installed a Sun Super Tach on the column and also had a white plastic Hurst T-handle, Hooker headers with Lakewood bell housing and traction bars. Options were slats, front and rear spoilers and had 14" magnums with original Polyglas spare. One odd feature was that the car had the reinforced shock towers like a big block or Boss 302. (Serial # OF05M163764)

Would like to locate with the hope of being able to purchase.  Any leads or information will be appreciated.

Fairly sure the Bulb-Tite rivet gun will work with the AMK fasteners. Did some further research and the Bulb-Tite rivets are used not only for PEMB, but also in the trailer building industry.

There are some other fasteners that are similar called Bulb-Tite rivets. (Check Triangle Fastener Co. on-line catalog)

These fasteners are typically used by Pre-engineered steel building installers so you might be able to rent or borrow (couple of six packs) the tool. They may also have the tool that is used for the original type fasteners from AMK as I believe these were used for fiberglass roof sheeting / corrugated skylight sheets?

Local Triangle Fastener office may also rent the tool? Just some options that I pursued with my KR ram air chamber.
