There are some other fasteners that are similar called Bulb-Tite rivets. (Check Triangle Fastener Co. on-line catalog)

These fasteners are typically used by Pre-engineered steel building installers so you might be able to rent or borrow (couple of six packs) the tool. They may also have the tool that is used for the original type fasteners from AMK as I believe these were used for fiberglass roof sheeting / corrugated skylight sheets?

Local Triangle Fastener office may also rent the tool? Just some options that I pursued with my KR ram air chamber.

Pretty sure the model was actually a 1968 GT 500 with the 67 picture on the record. I still have my record also.

SFM5S000, thank you for the Service Instructions. That is exactly what I was looking for! This is very helpful, now all I have to figure out is how to print them, as when I try to fit them to a page, I lose all print quality and they are not readable?

I'm also looking for detailed photos / drawings of a Stewart Warner 240-A fuel pump installation in a R-Model. Would also like to find a Stewart Warner 240-A installation and parts drawing if available, as a friend gave me a pump to use in my car.

Thank you.

Got my KR w/ AC fan clutch today from Chris Brown and it is a very nice piece. Anyone looking for a new fan clutch, I'd highly recommend. Can't wait to get it on the car!

Thanks Chris.

1965 GT350/R-Model / Re: Original fuel tank 65-68

Only the original bladder lasted more than five years for me. The last was 55 months, so I got a little break on the cost, as they pro-rate the value like a battery. The custom fuel cells have a 5 year warranty and the others I believe have 2 year warranties.

To anyone interested in a Fuel Safe bladder into a R-model tank, I got my new bladder back from Fuel Safe yesterday and can provide pictures / measurements to anyone interested or if someone wants to post the pictures, will be glad to provide. This is the third bladder, as I originally did this in 1996 for my 65 GT 350 competition replica.

Note: Bladders are only certified for five (5) years.

1968 Shelby GT350/500/500KR / Re: AC Compressor Rebuild?

Good morning all!

Would a 68 KR have the aluminum York compressor? Part # C8AA 2875 A? In addition, what would be the correct A/C clutch and how many belt sheaves should it have?
Are there any identification marks on a A/C clutch?

My car now has the correct brackets and idler pulleys thanks to Bob G., and now I'm looking to check if my compressor and clutch is correct.

Thanks for the help.

Good morning!

Didn't think about checking the paper door shields! The door panels are original and I've been thinking of replacing them, as the chrome foil in some places is missing.
Not sure if any of the reproduction door panels are any good, as I've seen some that do not fit correctly. Does anyone repair / restore original door panels?

Thanks for the input.
