Mud on the trunklid (circled) or??
Why would the top car on the left transport not have a rear window? Broken in transit? Future R-Model?
Quote from: Maduzbe on June 10, 2019, 06:56:36 PMAround that same time, our local Mustang club, The North Texas Mustang Club, was holding outdoor shows at the large UT Arlington parking lot. At the fall meet, I was driving my 1969 coupe over and was stopped at a light above a freeway cloverleaf. I started hearing a LOUD car. I looked down and spotted some Shelby stripes exiting onto the clover leaf. It was early morning so the lane next to me was empty. Up drove Rick in R001. He was driving. He had, I assume his kids, in the car. They had helmets on. Rick waved, the light changed and we motored on to the show.
I know that a man by the name of Nagel owned 5R001 in 1984. I was a judge at the 1984 mustang nationals in Dallas Texas. I remember seeing him with the car at the show I asked him when the show was over if he would give me a ride in it , he said sure no problem ,so when the show was over he asked me if I would like to drive the car back to his warehouse because he had trailered a 427 cobra there earlier and needed someone to drive 5R001 back to his warehouse .I guess whoever helped him get the cars to the show was not available. so I was in the right place at the right time .that was the highlight of my life driving this car on the highway to the other side of Dallas. to this day I still can't believe I did that .when we got to his warehouse it was full of Shelbys, there was a GT 40 in the corner of the warehouse that was in pieces and he said that it was Mario Andretti's car .he also had numerous other Shelby's ,what an incredible day .i have often wondered where he and his cars are now . It's like he disappeared with his cars . Nobody seems to know anything . Just curios . I would like to visit him someday and see the famous GT350 that I once drove
Quote from: Frankie on March 25, 2019, 08:46:19 AMNot a good idea. Lot of opinions about why not. The engines have to reach the designed-to-operate temperature and 160 doesn't allow that to happen. On a big block, get the distributor set up correctly then time the engine correctly. A timing issue is sometimes seen in running hot/boil over.
A 180 or 190? What about a 160?

CRC Brake Kleen in red can will melt many plastics as it is a tri-chlor. product. The alcohol based green can is safe on plastics.
Quote from: Don Johnston on February 25, 2019, 01:34:16 PMVery true! Clean the cable, take apart. Use brake cleaner as it dries with no residue. Then clean it again.
Choose wisely to continually use either a wet lube or a dry graphite. Do not alternate.
