Not easy to weld cast iron.  Did you use nickel rods? stick/arc or?  Very nice!

Hopefully, this helps.. Should be two PDF's.  Either should work technically.  Some are solid steel, some are a combination of high temperatures material that is malleable and steel.  Good luck Kyle!  Re-tighten them after use..  early & often!

Looks to me like they were experiencing gasket mating issues and decided to use a 'donut' style gasket that is made for 'flare/flare' vs. 'flare/flat' that extends into the manifold a short way (3/8"?) and tried to make it work.

Steve that looks like the right piece, just a piece of pressed steel, what I would call a Tinnerman nut.

Here’s one that is zinc not cadmium plated: https://www.huyett.com/products/fasteners/engineered-fasteners/palnuts/eflnw-de832075soh-b

« on: October 24, 2021, 03:37:18 PM »
I had a horrible hot start problem on a 428 cobra jet back in the day, even with good strong battery cables and good grounding. I think the core issue is more around the rebuilt starters just don’t have the torque that a new manufacture starter would. You might also want to check the cooling system to make sure it’s cooling as good as it can and not running hot.

Looks like the guy in the M3 gets a slight jump on him at the start of the half mile, does not take long for him to blow past, just a walk in the park for him.

All-  Hopefully, this is the right place for this - if not, Bill, please move it as needed.  One member reached out with a recommendation on a car hauler he's used in the past (Thank you John!), but that individual no longer hauls cars.  Believe he's now a short haul driver.  I have used the big guy's before, but for this haul would prefer an individual with their own vehicle and enclosed trailer as there will be parts/boxes, and other stuff to haul back (interior parts, etc.). If anyone has a recommendation or is a retired/semi-retired guy that has the right equipment and willing to do it, or needs to have a load from the greater Knoxville TN area to the Justin Texas (Dallas Fort Worth area), please reach out.  Timing would likely be mid November to Christmas, but dates could be flexible.  Any questions, please feel free to PM me.

So, I’m pretty sure there’s no meaningful difference between the AFR version of that head and the CS version of that head except may be a few hundred dollars and the engraving on the ends. That’s kind of what I was getting at. You may be better off buying the 195 or 185 versions. Especially if it’s going to be streetable.
