Hello all. While digging thru the attic again,  I was able to find another stack of old ford racing pictures from the 60's timeframe.. Maybe some of you history buffs will be able to identify some of the cars and people in the pictures.

So frustrating when communication isn't good or the communication doesn't match actions.
In the tech world we live in today there really isn't any excuse for blowing people off.

By the way, aside from U.S. 30 near Gary Indiana, there is also Bunker Hill out somewhere near Kokomo Indiana, Great Lakes Dragway just over the illinois/Wisconsin boarder, and Oswego Dragway outside (well, long gone) Oswego Illinois.
Many thanks to you for this information and also to everyone for the words of support. All of it is helping to keep the search alive.

I will add these new local 60's tracks to my photo search...It appears after stripping the paint layers that this car (originally white) was painted Silver and had flames on the front nose/fenders along with wide blue lower stripes on the rocker panels.

How did I miss the caliper not being there  ::)

Thomas are you sure you're not  mixing me up with another Mike on this forum, I can't remember anything from the GT350/500 forum ?

Maybe it's an age thing on my part  ;)

Mike

Lol, you may be correct Mike. I mixed you up with a different member. I have a different thread on the GT350 board in regards to a Shelby race car that I purchased recently. I've been receiving help from a bunch of great people over there to try and identify the history of the car.

You ever thing, darn I wish they made that car also?

I'm not sure what the black two door is, but it's a great looking car.

Thomas, thanks for posting ! great images, some I've seen before, and some are new to me.  did your uncle work for Ford ?

Mike

Yes, he was involved in Ford racing in the 60's.

Thomas, great images  8)  here and in the other thread ! thanks for posting. I'm pretty sure that's Ken Miles in the shorts, and no shirt, in the centre of the image. Obviously during testing, is that at Sebring, or the Ford Romeo proving ground ? Looks like there is an issue, the guy to the left of Miles is looking at a rag, maybe it's transmission fluid ?

Mike

Hey Mike
You’re very welcome. Thank you very much for all of your wisdom and advise on my race car post over in the GT 350/500 forum.

I wanted to make sure that this group saw these first. Maybe they’ll provide some information to the specialists as to the Who, what and where of all these pics!
I think it’s an issue with the brakes as there is no caliper present on the rear rotor.
The pics have been stored away since the 60’s.

Could the guy without a shirt in the left be Mr Shelby?

Here's a close up of the guys. Anybody able to identify them?

I came across these while cleaning out my Uncles attic and wanted to share with the group. The last pic is of some clear stickers and a stub from a race at MIS in 68’

I’ve already posted them on the GT 40 forum for the guys over there.
