Fantastic pictures; I'm wondering if anyone has any pictures of the Hertz Cars outside like these 65 pictures?

My good friend Bill Wilson (6S852) just received his new 66Shelby registry! Fabulous and wonderful ! Thanks so much to all involved! Obviously the best with what information is available! Color pictures and wow the collisions pictures ad well! ( mine 6S1680 was apart for 3 1/2 years so I didn't update its info) ;; His binding is falling apart already! If you're getting one; be careful as to not press open any pages with vigor!! Lol ( it would be awesome if ever re-done in a hard back ) ! Congratulations registry organizers

It would be prudent for the next owner of this one to find some original vin to the chassis "before buying " ! That would be a really bad date " like finding out after the alcohol wears off; you wake up and find out you married the ugly sister by mistake " !

Ah ! if your Shelby only had an original Sticker !! I'm sure you would never even get any speeding tickets on Jamboree rd and PCH when the light turns green! " two cool sharks standing side By side "" !  " but officer " I'm Exempt ""

My friend side-oilers!! So funny that you mentioned that old Hemmings  !! I found this one advertised in Hemmings motor news in the big brown book in 96/ 97 !! I had the subscription and paid extra to get it early!! Lol The owner was very curt with me! It took two phone calls down to Ramona California; then to  to meet Ben Deness ( Shelby registry listed owner two ) !! The stories I could tell oh boy !!

Fantastic suggestions and great opinions gentlemen! I knew that our club would be the best to open up about such an important event in my enthusiast car life! After it being apart for 3 1/2 years to finalize its current level, its the right time for that discriminating new owner ! Thanks again Jeff and you others for food for thought!   Seems that some professional pictures are needed!! ( not my iPhone) lol !

After almost 23 years of this Shelby's  ownership the agreement at home is to look for the right venue or publication to list my very original California black and gold plated Shelby ; I've been watching our community also BAT or one of the big auctions ; and just word of mouth with the wonderful Shelby enthusiasts I've met ; this is a heart felt question for my fellow enthusiasts and their experiences here ; thanks everyone

Thanks for the link; great story ; we saw he bought SFM416 (66) ! I had some sponsorship from Saleen in scca pro solo in an 88 #200 and got to win a pro solo in San Diego ; fun memories

My Exempt sticker said that it met officer 👮 Poncherello and Jon on their KZ1000's on Whittier blvd on a Saturday cruise night! It got the glance and nod from them only and they lit up a 67 GT500 without one! Wondering what happened?

After all this fantastic info on my awesome " exempt " sticker; I went out to my Shelby and we had a wonderful moment ; and the Exempt sticker just took a bow and smiled at me ! Because it knew how historic it is and a compliment to it's California history of a bygone era never to be again!

Also check your mechanical advance  mine has been known to dry up and get " sticky or slow " ! So runs retarded at rpms just cruising down the road ! Light lubricant down the tube where you're rotor sits and flip it until loose

I've always felt that retarded timing ads heat: I timed mine by 36 degrees overall at full advance and all in by 2500 rpm by adjusting springs on the mechanical advance ; mine runs cool ! Some small block fords can run hot if their coolant/water runs through the block too fast ; just a reminder " coolant or anti-freeze does not cool your block; only raises your boiling point! Let's see what other comments you get on a 160 thermostat as well? What's the radiator cap lbs?

It appears that the black plates expired Jan 18 and should be able to just pay the late fees and keep them on the car; when I got my black plate 66 the plates were on a non -op" so the car still has them current and original SVS725; my friend in SAAC At the time had done some research and had found only eight original 66 Shelby's with their original black plates still currently registered back in 97 ? I wonder how many there really is ?
