1965 GT350/R-Model / Car Owner
January 15, 2023, 05:21:29 PM
Hello,

I met the owner of 5S195 yesterday at the Shelby American Collection.  His first name was Jim, but I did not get his last name.  Can one of you please take a look at your registry for me and let me know his last name?

Thanks,
Eric

Hello,

Do any of you know who was the original supplier of the foil emblem inserts for the '67 Shelbys?  It is my understanding that ACSCO only supplied the plastic emblem "frames".  Please let me know.

Thanks,
Eric

Hello Everyone,

So, when Shelby Automotive, Inc. was shut down, where did all of their company records go?  Does the Ford Corporate archives have them, if not, where are they?  Do any of you know?

Thanks,
Eric

1967 Shelby GT350/500 / Interesting Photo Of 0100
May 19, 2022, 01:00:32 PM
In my never ending quest to research 0100's history, I acquired this photo a couple of nights ago.  The photo was taken by Bob D'Olivo for Motor Trend magazine on Monday, 12/12/66.  I was definitely surprised to see what appears to be the engine oil filter with an oil pressure line attached to it remotely mounted in the driver's side front wheel well!!!

July 18, 2021, 05:29:08 PM
Hello Everyone,

Can one of you please take a measurement off your car and tell me the angle of the windshield in relation to the cowl?  My car is not here at home so I cannot do this myself.

Thanks!

Hello Everyone,

A reunion of "Red Trio" is finally going to happen in a public venue for the very first time!!!  The first three production GT500s - cars 0100, 0131, and 0139 will all be displayed together at the Indiana SAAC Fall Classic in French Lick.  The dates are October 20th, 21st, and 22nd.  It sounds like there is going to be quite a few significant cars at the event.  I hope to meet some of you there.  Here is a little teaser....

1967 Shelby GT350/500 / Colorized Photos Of 0100
January 21, 2021, 01:06:22 PM
Hello Everyone,

I had a local photographer do some colorizing on three of the photos of 0100 that were taken by Car and Driver back in late November of 1966.  I think they turned out really nice.

Thanks,
Eric

1967 Shelby GT350/500 / 0100 Old And New Photos
December 05, 2020, 12:53:25 PM
Hello Everyone,

The first photo is of 0100 with GT40 P/1047 and was taken by Car and Driver magazine in late November of 1966.  I acquired the photo in 2012.  For the past 8 years I have wanted to do a current day version of this photo with GT40 P/1015.  On October 29, 2020 we were finally able to make it happen at the Shelby American Collection.  Thanks to Kieth Champine who did some excellent "clean up" work on the photo for me.

Thanks,
Eric

1967 Shelby GT350/500 / Video Of 0100 Warming Up
April 18, 2020, 01:02:19 PM
Hello Everyone,

Here is a video of 0100 warming up to go for a ride in December of 2018.  I am still waiting for Billups Classic Cars to finish up a few things on the car.  This COVID-19 mess has fouled things up.  I hope 0100 will be back home before too much longer.

1967 Shelby GT350/500 / '67 SA VIN Info Breakdown
April 09, 2020, 04:17:07 PM
Hello,

Thanks to Brian Styles for posting this on his research group website.  In my eyes, this does give an indication that coupes and convertibles were planned to be offered sometime during the '67 model year.

Here is a link to Brian's Shelby Research Group: https://groups.google.com/forum/#!msg/shelbyresearch/gk19EYdCOzA/R0JAlAQ7BAAJ

The Lounge / Your Opinion Please
February 20, 2020, 09:52:47 PM
Hello fellow Shelby enthusiasts,

I would like to know your opinion on this subject.  From an historical standpoint, which is the stronger and more important relationship:

1. The relationship between the first three production GT500s ever built by Shelby American, "the RED trio" of car numbers 0100, 0131, and 0139?
OR
2. The relationship between car number 0131 ("Little Red") and the car it inspired, "The Green Hornet"?

Please let me know your thoughts.

Thanks,
Eric

Wanted to Buy / Radiator For '67 GT500 With Auto Trans
January 24, 2020, 11:10:06 AM
Hello,

I need a radiator for a '67 GT500 with an automatic transmission.  I would be willing to purchase one that needs to be re-cored as long as it has top and bottom tanks that are in nice shape.

Please let me know if you can help me out.

Thanks,
Eric

Hello Everyone,

Well since it is already on YouTube (if you know where to look) and someone else put it on Facebook; the first three production GT500s will be reunited and on display in January at the Barrett-Jackson auction in Scottsdale.  Cars 0100, 0131, and 0139 have not been together since 0139 left the Shelby Automotive Engineering Department in late 1968.  The three Candy Apple Red '67s will be displayed with the Green Hornet and the first 2020 GT500.  Hopefully, nothing will happen between now and then to prevent this historic reunion from taking place.  Looking forward to this, and hopefully it will be a lot of fun.

Thanks,
Eric

The Shelby world lost another good one this week.  Lew Spencer has passed away.  In June of 2007, Lew was a guest speaker at the RMVR Trans Am race in Pueblo. He liked the car that my friend Mike Cox and I had built and were racing. Lew hung out with us in the car trailer for several hours that weekend. He shared some really great stories with us.  Then on 12/01/07 when 0100 was on display at the Shelby American Collection, Lew and Chuck Cantwell were gracious enough to speak with me for a few minutes about the car and pose for a couple of photos.  Godspeed, Lew!!!

Hello Everyone,

I am looking for anyone who may have been around/visited/worked at ACSCO (Burbank, California) in the late 1967/early 1968 time frame. I am trying to find out information on any '67 Shelbys which had been loaned to ACSCO's Engineering Group.  Please let me know if any of you can help me out.

Thanks!
