The very first vintage race I ever attended was over Labor Day weekend in 1988 in Steamboat Springs, Colorado.  I got to watch Bondurant win the big-bore feature race driving CSX3261 which was owned by Chek Beuf at the time.  Got to talk with Bob a few times over the years at the Shelby American Collection Christmas parties and fundraisers.  In 2012 I was able to get him to autograph the back of a photo that I had taken of him after he had won that race in Steamboat back in 1988.  Just look at the smile on his face!  He remembered winning that race and said it had been a lot of fun.  He will be missed by many that were lucky to know him.  Godspeed to one of SAI's greatest drivers!!! 

This past Saturday, 11/06, I drove 0100 from our house over to the Shelby American Collection in Boulder and put the car back on display.

Just double checking with you on this.  The flange on these early taillight frames goes on top of the lens, and not the bottom of the lens?

Hello Rod,

This is a 17" wheel that looks pretty darn close to a Magstar.  Certainly close enough for driving around with current high performance tires and sitting in the garage without having to worry so much about flat spotting the tires.

The wheel was made by Mike Stallings.  He used to own Wheel Vintiques.  He now owns Circle Racing wheels.  Last time I had any contact with him was in September of last year and he was in the middle of moving from Commiefornia to Texas.  Let me know if you want his phone number.

Hello Rod,

This is a 17" wheel that looks pretty darn close to a Magstar.  Certainly close enough for driving around with current high performance tires and sitting in the garage without having to worry so much about flat spotting repro Speedway 350 tires.
