1967 Shelby GT350/500 / Steering Wheel Spring
July 03, 2022, 06:32:04 PM
This is probably a terrible question, however I can not find a diagram or information anywhere specific to1967 Shelby.  Did Shelby use the standard ford steering wheel spring when they changed the steering wheels in LA?  Mine did not have one when I removed the steering wheel, but there were a lot of things missing during my restoration.  Any help is appreciated.

I am searching for a clip or bracket for the C6 automatic transmission.  I have found a bracket which was used for the C4, however am not sure this is correct for a C6.  I have also seen a clip used, but am interested in what is the proper return spring attachment.  Any help is appreciated.

I am starting engine assembly for my 428pi and am looking for some specific detailing information.  I have seen some photos with the water bypass hose and clamps painted ford blue.  In addition I have seen engines in which this was not painted.  Was this a Shelby factory detail such as the intake overspray pattern?  Just wondering if paint is a Shelby time saving detail?  Any help is appreciated.

I am looking for recommendations on the restoration of the 1967 plastic tail light lenses.  My originals are in pretty good shape, but do not want to ruin them with the wrong process.  Any help is appreciated.

1967 Shelby GT350/500 / 1967 slop grey parts list
June 08, 2019, 09:15:58 AM
I am getting ready to stage painting my 1967 project and recent posts have peaked my interest on which pieces are actually "slop grey"?

The current list I have is:
1.  shock tower caps
2.  shock tower export brace
3.  battery tray
4.  spring coil covers

Any help refining the list is greatly appreciated.

I have been searching this and several other mustang sites to make sure the components of the interior are properly colored.  My interior is the dark charcoal metallic, but I am having trouble getting clarification on the dash/windshield moulding and rear fold down seat moulding.  The information I have found suggests everything should be dark charcoal metallic except for the deluxe seat backs and bottom moulding and kick panels.  Any help is greatly appreciated.

1967 Shelby GT350/500 / 1967 firewall pad
June 29, 2018, 11:21:47 PM
I am wondering if anyone can answer a question related to the San Jose firewall mat appearance.  While restoring a 1967 firewall pad for a project car, I have become interested in the purpose of a rectangular opening approximately 3.5" x 3.5" just above the fuse panel placement.  I have confirmed this opening now in three separate Mustang mats however have not been told the purpose yet.  Is this for a specific mustang or application, and is it appropriately open in a 1967 GT 500?  Any information is appreciated.

I am looking at potentially replacing the passenger side lower scoop on my project prior to assembly.  Just checking to see if there are any available and determine if replacement is any easier than fixing the original.  Thank you for any help.
