What transmission fluid are you running in a street driven cast iron T10?

Quote from: SFcarbuff on April 17, 2024, 05:17:22 PMI have a mid March built car.  Did the front speaker grill come with the two rubber bumpers?  If so  which type were used?  Thanks
Yes they do have 2 rubber bumpers. I installed the grille from a mid April car about a month ago. Original bumpers were and still are on it. They are similar to the glove box door bumpers but with a slightly different shape. I think NPD sells the glove box door bumpers as replacements. Apparently there is no exact repo. I did not take a photo of them. You can not see them when the grille is installed.

Quote from: KDunne on April 15, 2024, 09:58:57 AMI think they do look visually correct for 67, 3 nubs for the hubcaps, and the smaller center.  Seems odd that there aren't any markings on the hub, would expect to see a 67 stamped, a number for the date, and a ford logo.
They may look close, but like I said they are not correct for a 67 Shelby either. No numbers,no ID,incorrect back space, NO CIGAR!

That is the correct bearing. It is listed as 1.378" ID. The axles I have measure 1.380"and 1.381" where the bearing is pressed on. The 1.365" is where the seal rides not the bearing. They are a stepped axle.

They are 67 or earlier wheels. From what I can see from his no detail photos they do not look correct for a 67 Shelby either.

I believe it's in Oatman Arizona? 191 Turns in 8 Miles.

Yes, Drove it in July 2017. It was a few days after the July 4th sidewalk egg fry in Oatman. It was 110+ that day. Fun drive, but would have been better in another vehicle ( F150 is not a corner carver). Plus the wife doesn't appreciate aggressive driving the twistes while she is in the passenger seat.  Yes more 4 legged ass than 2 in town.

The clips can be installed after the glass if you choose, but make sure all the studs that retain them are there before the glass goes in.

There have been several known original cars with glued and riveted on same car. Certainly not common
+1. I had an one (original) owner 69 500 convertible in my shop last summer. It had a mix of glued and riveted wheels. He has all the paper work on the car. No warranty work as per Vinny. I think it has 2 of each type if I remember correctly.

Rodney
So no recorded warranty work and yet a mixer of wheels . That doesn't make sense that Ford would mix the two inferior recalled glue in and superseded riveted.  If you are implying that was the way they were from the assemblyline.
Bob
That is what I am implying. I have seen plenty of miss matched parts on vehicles right off the assembly line. Just came across one yesterday. Nobody can prove it one way or the other, but a one owner fairly low mile no accident car with lots of paper work and no warranty work shown. I am thinking that the chances of it being an assembly line miss matched are pretty high. Why would a car be recalled without all the parts to do the job? Makes no sense to me to only have two wheels replaced and not all four. Strange things happen.

1966 Shelby GT350/GT350H / Detail questions.
March 14, 2024, 05:18:05 PM
I am doing a 66 GT 350 and have a few detailing questions. It is a mid April Ford build.
Q.#1 What finish would the heater hose elbow at the intake manifold be? Gold cad. silver cad or engine blue?
Q.#2 What color should the dist. lead terminal at the coil be? Some say black, others say yellow.
Q.#3 The car has a cast iron T-10 and the the oil drain plug is a square drive with "MAGNETIC " on it.   Is this correct or a day 2 item?

Thank You
Rodney

I have 345 in my notes. It probably is/should be 945. Car is filed away for the winter so can't look at it for  awhile. I might have a photo of it at home but it would be a print. Pre digital era when the car was restored.
