Snell is not a manufacturer but a helmet standards/certification foundation. Snell is to helmets as UL is to appliances. Their are multiple Snell standards/certifications depending on the helmets intended use, motorcycle, automobile, bicycle ect.

California is heaven for car guys. Nothing like driving the coast from San Fran to LA in a drop top Mustang with a full moon just in time to make a 8am flight back to friggin' ChiTown.

ONCE UPON A TIME....I went from Ukiah and tried to get to Mendocino - through the Lost Coast - UNBELIEVABLE TOPOGRAPHY - down Low Gapp Road - never got to Mendocino - anyone interested in that story, give me a call. I have since been told others who have tried to do what I did were never seen again. I know why....
I have not driven Low Gapp Rd. Ukiah to Mendocino. I believe that the CA. Lost Coast Is further North and I have driven that twice. The route I took was Humboldt Redwoods State Park to Honeydew, Petrolia and Ferndale last year after SAAC 43 and the reverse before SAAC 35 in 2010. If you ever get that way I recommend it if you like drives off the beaten path. This route is a secondary two lane paved road that has tons of elevation changes, twists, turns and beautiful scenery. A section of it runs right on the coast with little traffic and very few people.

1967 Shelby GT350/500 / Re: Brakes

By the looks of your M/C photo someone has used DOT 5 brake fluid ( DOT 5 is identified by it's purple color ). Do not mix fluids! To be 100% sure take a small sample and see if it will mix with water. No = DOT 5, yes DOT 3 or 4.

Over the years I have had a few Shelby's in my auto repair shop and a fair amount of My customers don't have a clue what a Shelby is. "What's a Shelby?" I just tell them it's a Mustang and then they understand ( some what) and are happy.

1965 GT350/R-Model / Re: 1965 Leaf Spring Help

Not factory. The leaf spring band clamp is unlike any factory installed band I have ever seen, but is a Ford universal service part that they sold to fit many different applications with one part number.

I have that on a VHS tape that a friend got me about 20-25 years ago. Cool video.

Sad news indeed. Condolences to the Branda family. I first dealt with Tony 30 years ago, nice guy. He will be missed. RIP Tony

I have heard that some of the originals did not have a part # on the back of one of the spokes.  Is this true ?
Yes this is true. I believe that the ones with out the numbers are the second version that is supposed to clear ( from experience some will, some won't ) the 68 & up single piston K/H calipers.

One thing to check first on your replacement rotor that I have run across before is that the bearing cup(s) did not get fully pressed and seated into the rotor.

Good to know. Somebody should have notified us earlier and changed the published schedule to reflect this. I hope people don't show up expecting to see the concourse on Saturday.

Maybe to late now, but there is usually enough cable that you can pull out far enough to hook the cable on before you put the instrument cluster back in the dash.
