Wow, this thread really reminds how much I love Boss 302's.  Don's blue Boss is killer.

Yes, they are behind schedule with the building of the main facility.  They will have the event across the street in an alternate building.

We are currently planning our next joint SAAC Carolinas event.  On Saturday, April 14th, 2018, the Mustang Owner's Museum  ( https://www.mustangownersmuseum.com]https://www.mustangownersmuseum.com ) will be holding their inaugural event, "National Mustang Day".  This is a planned three day event to not only let folks show their love of America's favorite pony car, but also to showcase the new museum.  Our plans are to hold our event at the museum and let our southern neighbors know that the Carolina's do have a strong Shelby presence.  Our joint clubs will meet up on Saturday,  April 14th at 9AM at the Museum, located at 4030 concord Parkway, Concord, NC  28027.  Being that SAAC Carolina's is a Founding Club of the museum, we will have access to a meeting room and other privileges.

Denny Dietz, my doppelgänger representative from the South and I both plan on coming in to town early on Friday to attend some of the planned events.  If anyone would like to join us, please just reach out.

To register for this event, simply click on this link:      https://www.mustangownersmuseum.com/event-details-2018-nmd.html]https://www.mustangownersmuseum.com/event-details-2018-nmd.html

Once there, you're on the "Event Schedule" page for the Museum. You'll notice a red colored, rectangular tab button, at the top of the page, click on that button and you'll see the event registration form. The first listing is the one you want to use. The price is $40 for the entire day of events.

Once there, change "Quantity" from zero to 1. Then click on 'Yes" to be entered to win a case of Pennzoil motor oil.

Next enter our Club Member Number of 0017. Then scroll to the bottom of the page, and click on "Proceed" to enter your billing information.

Our two Club's will meet up on Saturday April 14th at 9AM at Museum, located at 4030 concord Parkway, Concord, NC  28027

Please RSVP with either me or Denny.  Any questions please reply, or give me a call.

Thanks,

Brian

Concours Talk / Vent Window Rubber 65-68
February 12, 2018, 09:33:11 AM
I just spoke with my restorer about rechromimg/ replacing glass/and new rubber seals for my vent windows.  He felt pretty strongly that the current reproduction vent window rubbers are less than desirable,  :o  and to hold out for NOS if possible.  Is there a good reproduction seal using original Ford tooling, or does everyone just  go NOS if they are serious about doing the job right?

Looks really nice Ruben.

Thanks Jeff (and Denny).  I actually was inquiring in a general sense after speaking with a friend who is looking to purchase a GT350 from the first week in May.

Still, I would be interested in the dates that would be appropriate for No 26.  It's San Jose date is 10/10/66.  Thank you as always.

What are the current thoughts about glass dates?  How much sooner would the glass dates be as compared to the San Jose date on a 1967?  Are they all about the same (Windshield, side, rear, etc), or were some pieces completed earlier than others?

I had these saved, thought I should repost them.

The Lounge / Re: How do you wash your Shelby

Wait, he said there was no orange peel.  Are you sure that was a real Shelby GT350?

Please share your thoughts on this.  I'm been looking at pictures of 67's online and noticed that the color of stain seen on their wooden steering wheels seem to vary greatly.  Back when they were first new, were they a lighter or a darker wood stain?  What is considered more correct?  I know when I restored my last steering wheel, I preferred a darker stain, but I never gave much thought as to what was more correct.  What do you prefer?

A friend recently told me that greatest invention you could come up with would be 'Instant Barn Find' in a can.  Just spray it on a car you want to sell, and instantly it smells like a combination of dirt, hay and mouse shit.

Just spoke with Tom and he told me he had a huge hand in getting them to auction.  Perhaps he needs to change his title to Barn Find Hunter/Good Samaritan.
