Hi Vern... I have added the "Most Recent Posts" to the bottom of the home page.

Do you suggest more than 10 showing? ...or some variation?

Online details and registration should be up by Feb 1.

...and, yes, we will advise all by eblast, Facebook and Forum posts

Will the old restoration information be archived some point in time in our new forum?

As we sort thru the "broken glass"... whatever makes sense will be archived in some form here.

...but do not set your expectations high.

Important past posts should now be recreated here by the authors.

SAAC Forum Discussion Area / Forum Spam

Thanks to all who have been reporting spurious spam.

The reason there was so much is that, for the last 24 hours, we left registration wide open to help folks re-register.

I have now implemented Shelby-related challenge questions into the registration that should limit junk considerably, since most of the porn spam is done by automation and not real people.

Please do keep an eye out for any rogue new member that posts garbage and continue to report same.

So help the forum members understand why there were not regular backups of data over the years along the way.  Its really unfortunate that so much information had to be lost forever/ disappear because a backup of data did not occur.  Was this possible to do - but just not get done - or is it more complicated than that?  And is there a plan for the backup of data going forward?  Are we learning from mistakes made or could the same thing occur going forward?  Not trying to stir the pot, just trying to understand why some preventive maintenance did not occur and therefore the lose of so much good information - which is really disappointing.  Glad its back and running again though.  Thanks for the efforts to try and recover the past.

It was a perfect storm of malfunctions at the server side.
Of course, you always learn from the unexpected... new features are in place.
Thanks for your concern.

A disaster. Unfortunately it will turn off many previous and future users who may have a somewhat lower level of involvement and enthusiasm about Shelby's. This will be an unmeasurable loss to a hobby that consists of a relatively small population. Don't understand the comment about the Forum being back, there is nothing back. What is back is a completely blank slate - nothing there. A disaster.

Of course... our community is back online.
Of course... it was A DISASTER.

We'll survive.

We left the throttle wide open to allow easy re-registration...

...we'll tighten the procedure within 24 hours, and that will limit the spammers

If there was... it would be here.

Needed a clean reboot, unfortunately.
