Its website is horrible

I love how they say how well cared for the cars they sell are and then go on to say they don't even look at them

I buy alot of cars 

The market has went in 2 distinct directions.

Folks who's cars are actually for sale

And

Dreamers

I buy the former

Cool, I go through a heck of alot of Mustangs, 100 in the past two years.  Would love to know the locations to be able to look

This was on the floor of a gutted car, fell out of the dash and tape was there as well split and coiled up 

Usually we find 67 non Shelby ones wrapped around the dash harness or speedo cable

Found only one 65/66 non Shelby one tucked into the very top of the dash opening

Never found one under a seat, in a door or under carpet yet 

Am I the only person who wants a photo posted of your new baby, broken down on the road side or not

I've had a few lately although I do expect they were long term garage stored cars.

Bought a black primer 67 FB from Colorado. I was very dubious as the car was on craigslist forever. I happened to be travelling to Colorado and when I was there I called the guy, He sent me videos galore, Stuff no seller ever shows you like under the dash/cowl and so forth, I was going to buy it until I saw the trunk, Never saw so much bitumen in my life. Literally slathered on and probably 1/2 inch thick in places. He swore blind it was all unrusted factory sheet metal. At the price we agreed I could replace the whole back end and still be good so I took a punt and bought it.

I happened to be only about 50 miles from the car about a week later so went and visited. The car was as described, Insanely insanely rust free, There was a battery mounted in the trunk so we assumed the bitumen was to stop rust from the battery outgassing. He had removed some of the bitumen on all seams, below tail lights, wheel house to trunk floor seam, etc...all was perfect. Then he hands me a fishing tackle box filled with receipts including 2 change of owner bill of sales and the new car purchase showing it was bought 50 miles from where I bought it, Great car.

Also a Forum member recently sold me a car he assured me was time warp condition. He sent extensive photos and details and I pulled the trigger. The car showed up and its beyond reproach, I removed the carpets and the floors are like a dream, little details abound with clips, brackets and spacers I have never seen on a restored car. Just sublime. The cool detail was that under the rear seat with all the mice nests was a vintage parts wrapper with a name, address and phone number for a guy in California. I am dying to call the number...

I also bought out of the Carolinas a car that was stored for decades, Original owner title and patina up the wazoo. That car went to Belgium for an awesome restoration.

So barns..no, dry stored garages, yes. 

Wow, that was easier than I expected

The wifes floor steamer worked a treat. I unfolded a bit at a time with steam sessions in between

Thanks folks, I will take photos of the before, during and after....hopefully none of my in tears or the sheet in tatters.

I think back to my first Shelby, A GT500KR, I collected it at a local 7-11 from the haulier, I took it immediately home and tore into the dash like an idiot, I got the build sheet which was perfect and, although being fairly careful, opened it up rather quickly. Thankfully it was in very nice shape and didn't fall to bits.

I won't be paying full high retail but will pay fair market  money and close quick for the right car.  i'm not looking to steal your baby for a song. I will also answer quickly and never mess you about

I have done several deals with members and am about to close another

Don't care about colour changes or non orignal motors

Don't want rusty patched up cars

Very good fastback projects also bought, I.E. non rusty ones.

Not a buyer on. concourse or super rare stuff

Hey Folks,  Got a 68 fastback in and stripped out the interior and sent the car for paint, weeks later it came back today and I thought...would be nice to find the build sheet. Looked down and sitting in the detritus found under most fifty year old carpets was the build sheet all tightly folded and curled uo

Can anyone give me some pointers on the best way to unfurl and open with the best possibility of wow damage?  I assume steam plays a part.  was thinking a strainer over a pot of boiling water

It's in quite good shape and not a crumbling mess like most.

I had my 66 Tach looked at for an operational fault and I didn't have a thing done to the patina, my car has a tired paint job to match :-)

Two Tachs actually

Before the site went down I had posted I was having issues with a Tach dash where the Tach was pegged as soon as the key was turned

I finally got my hands on another Tach and upon trying that I found the Tach worked fine so the wiring was not at fault. That being said this second Tach didn't return easily to zero

I was shortly heading to the USA so brought both tachs and mailed to Phil Severance who has done some challenger gauges for me and also some previous Tach work

For those with an interest his repairs were as follows:
   
"The tachometer, that pegged, had an internal short that didn't show up until the tach was installed and grounded. I replaced the whole board and will sort the old board when I have more time. The tachometer that didn't zero had a lot of contamination in the meter. I replaced the board, balanced and calibrated the meter. Both should be good to go"
