Mike - the ones compressed with a strap are gas filled ones, Bilstein for example. They do have a gas reservoir which helps expanding, hence the strap.
Konis donīt have gas, so no strap needed.

My pleasure !
It wasn’t completely nice to drive - wipers do have some advantage.😝

Living in Europe sometimes (rarely... ;D ) has itīs advantages if it comes to great drives ! We drove up Stelvio, in pouring rain, direction snow ( you can see the top of the pass and the road up there slightly on the photo) in an open pre war racer. All big fun !!

Thought so !  ;D ;)

That has all been described and then solved on page one of my link above (although it did go on for another two pages without me ;D ).  Maybe you do confuse me with the initial poster above ?
I simply wanted to help him, since my question had been thoroughly answered. Was that wrong ?

Talking is not the problem - but for me the shipping/handling/customs/import tax simply made no sense just for some nuts. All the other parts I could want from them I already had... 8) ;D

I asked a similar question some time ago - maybe this does help you :

1965 GT350/R-Model / Re: How much tire can you squeeze into a 65 wheel well
« on: February 21, 2022, 01:19:20 AM »
My car has 225/60 Avons on all corners, fenders are rolled. All fit without problems. I have also two 245 Avons, also on American Racing wheels, they do fit, but the car is quite low in the back and there would be rubbing when cornering. I have to fit the new springs - i think the rear ones are lower than they should. Maybe the tires might fit better then.

If I am not totally wrong thatīs a car running in Switzerland. The clip is from the event in Arosa, an annual hillclimb. But I donīt know if itīs the original car or a clone.

GT40 - Original/Mk V / Re: Ford GT40 crash at Goodwood Revival
« on: November 27, 2021, 03:36:35 AM »
The GT 40 was supposedly a very original car and indeed the real thing ( as stated before, this is rare nowadays because of the amount the cars are worth ), unfortunately there was an Interview with the driver (Sam Hancock, a very good and experienced driver, specialist for historic racing) where he was quite happy to be trusted with such an original and historic example. The accident was very unfortunate, there was a lot of oil on the track which totally surprised both - the T70 spider simply could not slow down.

Thank you both for your input - I have bought for a quick solution a set of Gorilla lug nuts.
I will go the Cobra Automotive way, but will wait until I need a bit more (soon.. ;) ), so the shipping costs etc. are worth it.

Cheers,
Ralf
