April 12, 2024, 12:12:21 AM
Does anyone know what car that is on page 05 of the 2022 Registry?
0998 is Brittany Blue/Black interior
We're just trying to give the NightMist Blue car pictured, it's place

I'm back and after going through two files of notes, I found the number.
It was Deltron DAU 4086 DK Sapphire Blue
Poly OEM 29 GM/General
It's actually a two stage paint, but they mixed it as a single stage in an aerosol can
I'm not saying this is the end all colour match, but you can see my pictures for reference.
I see there is also an aerosol from Accumatch L-17520 Power Steering Pump Blue, but I don't know of any results with it, maybe someone here has tried it?

Hope this helps!

Fortunately i found a few pictures of the my pump , not saying it's the perfect shade light or dark, but I feel it lands somewhere in the circle
I'm open to critique

When I'm back home next week I can send you a PPG paint code I used and had it mixed for a spray can, after trying all the part suppliers paint which weren't even close, this was a welcome treat.
Better paint too in the end.

Up For Auction / Re: 1967 GT500 - 67400F5A03116

That rear quarter panel appears to me to be riveted on to the upper section of the original panel , showing no sign of a complete replacement quarter panel, which says it would have been some type of lap joint done, which means body filler would have to run the outer length of that joint, if I'm mistaken please point out if a different approach was used.

It would be beneficial to know what designates a first or second and so on car build, does a number assignment seal the deal or does building and completing a car on such and such a date take precedence?
I'm interested to hear!

If you do get it repaired, you still have to be very careful when fastening the panel, if there are any areas that can get stressed theses panels seem to crack easily

Does glass beading then count for a smooth finish for the hood hinges?

I had previously painted the hood latch with Eastwood Phosphate paint, so they're only going to chemically strip it and no media blasting needed.

Great help guys! Will stay with smooth finish for the hinges and latch in the lighter gray. I actually held back sending the springs, so now I can do that finish here.

Many thanks

I was hoping you'd say that Bob, I'll go with the medium version, he said he can also give it a Grainy Chrystalline finish by media blasting with a 60 grit media, have you heard of or seen that finish before?

1967 Shelby GT350/500 / Hood Hinge Phosphate Finish
July 17, 2023, 05:11:41 PM
I have my hood hinges out to be phosphate finished, they can do Medium Grey( wet concrete) of Dark Grey, what would be the consensus on the tone?
Also same for the hood latch, but I think the latch should be the darker one.
