1967 Shelby GT350/500 / Hood Hinge Phosphate Finish
« on: July 17, 2023, 05:11:41 PM »
I have my hood hinges out to be phosphate finished, they can do Medium Grey( wet concrete) of Dark Grey, what would be the consensus on the tone?
Also same for the hood latch, but I think the latch should be the darker one.

Is the 67 headlight switch that was changed out quite a lot on warranty, a Cougar version with the three plastic vacuum ports attached at the rear? I assume it could take more voltage ?

1967 Shelby GT350/500 / GT 350 Rad Hoses
« on: August 02, 2022, 10:30:49 AM »
Im trying to identify the correct upper Rad hose for my 67 GT350. I got the kit from Marti Auto a few years ago and the top hose I had to stretch to get it in place, so there is no sharp 90 going to the Rad connection.
I clearly ordered for the application and now he says I got the 65-67 289 hose .
Then Theres one for 20” Rad and 24” Rad , I told him it’s a 20” original factory radiator, but he’s still asking should they cut the one end shorter, how would I know that? I would have thought they should know what hose goes to the application.
Has anyone here had this same experience and got the correct hose?

Wanted to Buy / Wanted Original LH 67 Black Deluxe Door Panel
« on: July 01, 2022, 01:13:08 PM »
I know it’s a big want, but I’ll throw it out again if anyone has an original LH Black Deluxe 67 door panel in nice condition that they would be willing to sell. The interior is all original except for carpet and headliner, I’ve always held off replacing the door panels hoping a driver side would one day present itself. Let me know if you have such a piece, it would be one more piece of the puzzle checked off.

1967 Shelby GT350/500 / 289 Hipo Crossovers
« on: May 13, 2022, 10:32:57 PM »
Has anyone here covered or plugged the crossovers on their factory intake on the small blocks? Could the crossovers make that much extra heat to cause a perculation senario?
Would there be many or few out there including 65/66’s that have done the same?
I’m trying to eliminate why my 67 is getting fuel dripping down onto the secondaries after parking the car and it sits for about half an hour or so, the fuel then runs out each side of the butterfly shaft and drips onto the intake, only doing this on the rear barrels, no issue on the front ones.
I pulled the rear bowl off today and the float is set at 1/2”
Checked fuel pump pressure and it’s 5-6 psi.

1967 Shelby GT350/500 / 67 GT350 Air Filter
« on: March 28, 2022, 02:08:26 PM »
Confirming the open element air filter for 67 GT350, does it fall under 65/67 F Special?
I measured the repro filter I have right now, and those dimensions are a little more than what’s printed here
The replacement number on the sticker goes to a C7ZZ 9600-F which falls under FA-41

1967 Shelby GT350/500 / HiPo Choke Cable
« on: February 28, 2022, 12:01:37 PM »
Im looking for the length of an original HiPo 67 Choke Cable.
I see some saying no C on the knob and some say with C, did it vary in 67?
What I think is my original cable has a C.
I bought a repro one a few years back, but the mounting bracket doesn't match up to the style of mine, Ive noticed too that the air vent cable/know has the same style of mounting bracket, but with the addition of the two fasteners that holds it in place combined with the E Brake handle bracket.
Right now the cable is mounted to the right side of steering column and Im told it should be to the left next to the kick panel , but I don't have enough length to move it to the left.
Any help would be appreciated.

I have pictures but can’t get them from phone to here?
I think that by seeing the dash mounting bracket, that will tell the story.

What do most do when it comes to the exhaust manifolds on a 289 HiPo? Do you use them or bare metal only surfaces ?
