Up For Auction / Re: 1967 GT350 on CL

Is that right to have the Ford VIN in full view? I've never seen it, but I haven't seen them all either.
I thought it had to be covered over with the Shelby Tag.

Hey Rod
A day to celebrate indeed, I think you may have been one of the first early 67' owners I contacted upon purchasing 0031 in 1999, was great to meet you in person at SAAC 42 and to see your car in person for the first time too, you've been a good caretaker of 0036, keep up the good work and enjoy the ride!

So as the PP tax system goes there, you are saying that annually you pay it on every vehicle owned in your yard? Any idea on the rate of this tax? How is the value of the car set at and who determines it? I just read that paragraph again , but still would you want them coming up with your cars value? Could be good or bad.
Would you additionally pay Capital Gains Tax if vehicle sold at some point?
We don't that PP Tax agenda here in Canada.

1967 Shelby GT350/500 / Re: High Zinc VR-1 Motor Oil ?
November 02, 2020, 10:19:43 PM
I used VR-1 20W-50 for a couple seasons and then switched to Joe Gibbs 10W-30 High Zinc in my stock 67GT350

Original owners manual says 10W-30 so I did what it says, I'm still open to others thoughts on this though.

Joe Gibbs Racing Driven HR30 HR2 10W-30 High Zinc Petroleum Hot Rod Oil (Case of 12 Quarts) 02006

Thanks Colin, I should have read closer on the drive train info too. I'm not a buyer as I already own 0031, just like to keep up on the early builds.
Many thanks.

Does the prop rod hook to something when it's in the down mode? You mentioned a cotter pin, I assume that holding it in place on the hinge end?
Is this the original engine, trans, and rear diff section to the car?

Ok, well I'll try getting that app loaded and make another run, tires are the original Goodyear Speedways too.

1967 Shelby GT350/500 / Speedometer Reading Correct?
September 30, 2020, 02:10:42 AM
I took my GT 350 for a drive this morning, I've ever been real sure how accurate the speedometer is. So I wrote down a few numbers when I got back. Do these numbers seem close? I know first gear is long, but doing 60mph feels a bit slow, but maybe it's different in an older vehicle.
I really need to get side by side with a new car to compare, but just wanted to throw this out there first.

3.89 rear end

20 mph @2000rpm in first gear
30 mph @3000 rpm in first gear
60 mph @2700 rpm. In 4th gear
