As some may know I purchased a B/Production Shelby GT350 which came with the majority of it's pre conversion OEM parts. After taking delivery of the car and parts I was faced with how I was going to store and yet preserve the parts which ranged from vinyl seats to chrome pieces, suspension parts and larger pieces like whole doors.

After blowing off what seemed like 40+ years of accumulated dirt I've started the process of "preserving" these parts for future use. I've used a specific vinyl cleaner on all the seats and then coated them with a quality vinyl/rubber preservative twice due to their age. I then enclosed each seat in a breathable plastic bag, the same was done with the rear seat and door cards. The bumpers, which are in excellent condition, were washed and then coated with conservators wax along with exterior trim and window frames.

The gauge cluster, radio and misc. small parts were wiped clean and placed in sealed plastic containers. I haven't started on the suspension pieces as yet.  I may never use these parts, but who knows what the future holds? The next owner of 1806 may have need of them.

I'd like to hear what others may have done with their particular parts stash's as far as preserving them, what products and process works for you?

Griots Garage front cover  issue #455 has a beautiful '66 Ivy Green and Gold 350H. I couldn't find any other details or the owners info. other than it belongs to Gary M. Maybe someone knows Gary M. and can provide more details on his Shelby. A white/blue Shelby or clone is also partially visible in the same issue within the car cover section.

Really like the Alan Mann livery depicted on these cars, along with some great photo's.

I did search for my answer within the site, with no information found. I would like to ask the members what they feel a NOS GT350 Nardi wood steering wheel is worth. There is an advertiser on eBay selling two individual wheels as described in "excellent condition". His asking price seems very high to me, but I may be dead wrong on that, he's asking $4250. At this point I'm just curious price wise on these wheels, or what others have paid or sourced elsewhere.

Shelby American Racing / Mercury GT40's.

Interesting read concerning the rebadging of Ford GT40's to Mercury versions. I assume this was to appease Mercury and coincide with the performance publicity for Cougar.

There are some interesting entries for this month's running of the La Carrera Panamericana. Several Mustang/Shelby entries and even one GT350 type R.

Thought people would enjoy these photographs from the Le Mans Classic, which has a GT350 (real or ??) posted. The Photograph is about half way down the page in the far right column. Anyone identify the car ?

Anyone planning on attending? I've never been to the museum, so it seemed like a good opportunity to visit and enjoy some fellow Shelby enthusiasts.
Who knows, maybe I'll win the GT350R being raffled.    ::)

Wanted to Buy / Shelley LJ22 jack & handle
June 07, 2018, 07:08:26 PM

I know I'm probably asking the near impossible here, but if any one has a Shelley LJ22 jack with the handle I'd be interested in purchasing it.  Thank you, please pm me with your price.

My Cobra has the usual clear bra "spats" protection on the front of the rear fenders. I'm considering having the front nose at least protected as well, so has anyone had their Cobra covered with XPEL, 3M or a similar product?  Local installers to my area are reticent to install clear bra, I don't want a pre cut kit most offer.  I would prefer a custom applied one that minimizes seams and I want the edges rolled.
I'd like to hear others experiences with a particular product line (XPEL, 3M, etc) and what issues did you experience with the install or over all longevity of the clear bra.

Just wondering if there are any other owners on this site. I'm hoping for some dialog and sharing of knowledge on these cars, so do post if you own a CSX 4000.

CSX1000, 4000, 7000, 8000 / Taillight lense question
January 31, 2018, 11:53:30 AM

Can someone enlighten me the correct way to change out the taillight bulbs on a CSX 4000 series?  These are the stock rectangular one's.  I can reach underneath the fender and see the bulb but there must be a correct way to better access these.
Thank you for your assistance.
