I don’t remember there being a certificate of authenticity issued with original Shelby’s 65-70 when they were sold new, so any car with a certificate is probably a clone or later build. Original cars are just that “original cars”, problem with clones and continuation or whatever isn’t with original builder, it’s the resale later where it’s misrepresented as a “real” Shelby. Cars have become so valuable forgeries are common and profitable. My personal feeling is only the Shelby’s produced from 1965-1969(70) are the real cars and the most valuable as they should be, any others are clones, includes continuations etc. and shouldn’t be any where near as valuable. Continuations were built to make money pure and simple.

If those numbers are on a 1970 chassis, then something is improper.

Can you post some overall pictures? Pictures of the rear quarter panels? Pictures of interior ? Tail light panel?

Yes. It looks like a 1970 Mach I with apron 1969 Shelby VINS and other signs of a past 1970 Shelby. Apparently has the original engine.

Bobs daughter was supposed to get car, but they had a falling out, and Bobs widow wouldn’t even sell her the car. Have you figured out what happened to the car in its early years? Wrecked? Stripped?

Not trolling for drama, limited access to vehicle and information, owner has passed since first post.

Car belonged to step daughters father, was Gulfstream aqua, he painted red, Marti report says it’s a GT500, but body is 70 mustang, with 69 dash and column. Bob added dual quads also
