I'll try to make a breakdown of the colors when I get a chance.
The difficultly is we don't know every single car with USLs, so there will be some guessing.

I can say for certain there were no Acapulco Blue cars with the scoop lights.
More than likely there were no Brittany Blue cars. (no on the 1 of 1 Yellow or 1 of 1 Burgundy either)
Definitely only 1 Red car, #0100 the GT500 (maybe the only GT500, not 100% certain on that yet).

Here is another Red GT500 - and NOT 100......    Happy New Year to all.      8) 8) 8)

The Lounge / GT350 Book by Cantwell On Sale
December 10, 2020, 08:46:27 PM
Hi all

If you don't have the Shelby GT350 hardcover book written by Chuck Cantwell and Greg Kolasa, it is on sale for half price right now at David Bull Publishing.  I do not know how long the sale will last but this is definitely a book worth purchasing.  The quality of the book, the photos, and the first hand account of all things GT350 are more than worth the purchase price.  Check it out at the link below.  There are also some other awesome car books to consider from this publisher.  Don't wait - not sure how long the sale lasts.

Merry Christmas

Hi 67 Fans,
Just a few comments-0017 should be on this list. Also I am thinking 0003 was built with a flat cap and it was changed along with much of the interior to look more 1968.
Would like to also ask if anyone out there knows of any cars on the following list as the owners are in the registry but have not been to any conventions/shows recently.
0007-0049-0053-0059-0060-0065-0072-0075. And the 2 cars that are real different would be Lowells and 0176 both really not part of Shelbys official count of 1967 production.
Thanks in advance R.R.

Attached is a color photo of V7382 from the Fall of 1966.  Photo by Sid Avery.
Thanks

"Do you happen to have any of the steering wheel center. In the Sid Avery picture it looks like they only show "Shelby (Snake) Cobra" with no model designation"

Hi Rich.  Here you go - and yes you are correct, no model designation on horn button.  (PR photo taken by Sid Avery back in 1966)

And to support Eric's post (and not high jack) - also note in PR photo - "non standard Shelby items"  including non deluxe black dash, no tach - but 140 mph cluster vs. 120 mph on standard cluster, prototype trim pad that runs above the radio, and looks like no chrome trim by pedals.  Obviously lots to get sorted out prior to  first production cars were completed.

"It seems that GT500 emblems for the fenders, gas cap, dash, and the trunk were not available when the car was built in November of 1966."

Interesting photos and observations.  However, here are some cropped photos of emblems on the First 1967 Shelby GT500 - which was assembled in September 1966.  At least with the fender emblem, there doesn't appear to be any lines showing that the emblem was "pieced" together.  You gotta love the "reinforcing tape" that is holding the insert to the emblem though. These photos are from when Chuck Cantwell was performance testing the Shelby out at the Kingman, AZ test track back in September or October of 1966 - so period correct.

So help the forum members understand why there were not regular backups of data over the years along the way.  Its really unfortunate that so much information had to be lost forever/ disappear because a backup of data did not occur.  Was this possible to do - but just not get done - or is it more complicated than that?  And is there a plan for the backup of data going forward?  Are we learning from mistakes made or could the same thing occur going forward?  Not trying to stir the pot, just trying to understand why some preventive maintenance did not occur and therefore the lose of so much good information - which is really disappointing.  Glad its back and running again though.  Thanks for the efforts to try and recover the past.
