I have for sale a Ford Mustang Trans Am front brake set-up.

These Ford OEM four piston caliper were made for 60's Galaxie, Thunderbird and Lincoln applications and were used on the factory Mustang Trans Am cars in the 60's/70's and are commonly used today in period correct vintage racing.

The calipers come with semi metallic pads and the stainless steel cross-over tubes and stainless steel pad clips/retainers.

And the Ford OEM vented rotors are the stock 1.25" thick by 12" diameter.

All are new and never used.

So when CSX 3178, Shelby's personal 427 Cobra,  was sold at Mecum in Jan 2021 with 1A MFG 013 as shown in the2021 SAAC annual, was CSX 3178 "born" with that plate, or was a replica plate added during restoration for "period effect"?

I have a set of HEX Head Stainless Steel knock off nuts (spinners) that fit original Cobra hub threads and the correct taper for  original Sunbursts and Halibrands and Trigo aftermarket wheels.

This set of 4 was custom made for me by Lynn Park some 20 years ago when he still owned Trigo.

The nuts are brand new and never been used except to test fit them on my car.

I also have 2 sets of center caps, one set polished and 1 set unpolished.

These hex nuts would look "unique" on a Cobra and "right" on a GT40. Pic shown on an original magnesium Halibrand Cobra wheel.

I am asking $600 plus shipping for the 4 nuts and center caps.

Also I have an original, period correct set of Halibrand "hairpins" (safety clips) for those who would want to drill their hubs and use hairpins instead of safety wire for their spinners.

I am asking $125 plus shipping for the 8 safety clips.

The hot sun is a good idea to soften the tire/sidewall.

But you also need to soften the bead.

Use numerous coats/applications of Glycerine over a few days on about 1" of the inside and outside of the bead area. This will actually soften the bead.

Also if the tires are only being used for display, you can run a drum sander around the inside of the bead removing up to 1/8" of rubber to increase the ID of the tire to make it easier to mount the tire on the rim and seat it.

Tubes will also help.
