Nice to meet Greg and Doug at the cars and coffee event.  The roads were good, no debris and Bouquet Canyon was open all the way.  Some snow on the side of Pine Canyon, but no icy spots on the road.  I came back via San Francisquito and stopped at Power Plant #1 and the dam failure site, walked down the old section of road to view the dam site.  About 180 miles round trip, my CSX4000 was humming along.

343 Richmond St in El Segundo, look at it in Google street view, the building hasn't changed much.

Thanks to Doug C for the info, we can meet at the cars and coffee held at Bouquet Canyon and Valencia Blvd. Even if you don't want to go on a long drive, stop by.

Assuming the road is open by then, anyone interested in going for a drive up Bouquet Canyon, then Elizabeth Lake road, Lake Hughes road, or whatever, Saturday Dec 15th?

SAAC Forum Requests / Re: Website not secure
November 28, 2018, 03:51:03 PM
True, for the forum, it is mainly important when logging in. But it is a general movement where browsers are getting more vocal, okay visual, about using http vs https. The trend is to expect SSL all the time.

It's funny, I had just noticed, a few days ago, that many of my bookmarks were auto-redirecting to https, and I had started to go through all of them to see which ones are, and updating my bookmarks. Since this website was not auto switching, I had left it as http. Then I saw this thread...

The web server does have an SSL certificate, but you have to ask to use it by using https instead of http.  Many websites automatically redirect from http to https, but this one apparently does not.

Change your URL or bookmark to be https://www.saacforum.com/

Note the letter "s" added to http.

This one was in the country of California

What country is that actually in? The sign may have a CA address, but it sure doesn't look like Los Angeles to me.

Thanks Bob, I figured there had to be some way of having a reserve. I had the sender replaced when I bought my car, and I haven't dared to test how accurate it is when the gauge indicates near empty, but I'll verify I have the dual feeds on the tank, and I'll let it run out on the mechanical pump, and see where the gauge is.

I don't know if they can be optioned with a fuel level gauge in place of the fuel pressure gauge when buying new, I bought mine secondhand, but mine has fuel level, not the fuel pressure.

Had a nice time.  Well organized, and it was great to be indoors.
