I would call Pete's picture irrefutable evidence. One thing to note is typically the 69 Shelby's had a brushed on sealer probably weatherstripping adhesive on the back of the decals

After market additions typically. It was one of the items on every street driving (daily driver performance car) gear heads wish list back in the day.
A Hone unit was in a 66 Hertz car I had years ago. I think the consensus at the time was that none were factory and just an aftermarket piece for cars with big gears (fords and chevys alike). Seems like they were popular in the early 70's. I've never seen one in a Boss.

Yes after market but offered as a Shelby accessory. Pretty cool, we have a KR here with one installed. Has 4.11 gears that reduce to 2.9. Rated for up to 800hp IIRC. Originals are rare but new Hone is offering them for a mere 3200

. The cases aren't that rare. Unrestored would be in the ballpark of 8-1000.00

Thanks for your replies. My '66 GT350 is a December '65 San Jose build so I assume it should have a skinny C servo. Where I'm confused is the code on the main trans body, near the selector shaft is C4AP.

You can usually hold it with the belt and give it a quick blast with an impact gun if necessary.

Quote from: 7777kx on January 14, 2019, 01:29:32 AMAlan, auto or 4 spd?
I have 66 #1736 in the shop and am looking for a original date coded radiator for the car. Am thinking it would ideally be dated early 66.
Does anybody have a good core suitable for a rebuild they would sell?
Good price paid and shipping would be to PA
Many thanks
Alan

These are 67-68 assembly line type without the late 68 69 70 cutouts on top of hinge hood mount top bar. The repo hinges are the late cutout top bar type & they dont have date stamping & the metal stampings are not as deep & some noticeable differences & the X rivets are raised instead of stamped inwards. What makes u think these are 69 hinges tim?
