Wanted to Buy / Re: 68 oil cooler hose

Yes original

OK. You have your reasons.

I don't have any but let me just point out that you are past their useful life by about 20 years. They will dry rot on the inside near the hose ends. You can no longer bend them at all. They will crack through the bend.
Thanks for your opinion. I have replated and reused probabaly 10-15 pairs over the years and only had one hose fail (the one I’m looking for). I’ll take my chances with 50 year later old Aeroquip hoses

Can someone give me the engineering numbers for the balancer, lower crank pulley, water pump pulley on a GT500 air-conditioned car, no thermactor? I’m thinking they used a single sheeve  alternator pulley? Thanks in advance

Concours Talk / Re: Galvanizing
« on: December 13, 2018, 06:51:18 AM »
The reason the galvanizing will never come out the same and thicker as Jeff pointed out is the sheet of metal was galvanized before the parts were stamped out. Once the parts are stamped out all the bends nooks and crannies will cause a pooling effect on the plating material that will leave it thicker and uneven.

Ok, Chris; normally you are articulate, but this time?

The biggest fit issue is at the back of the scoop. 68 is deeper recess. Why not get 68 quarter?

So is it something that the Shelby side scoops would cover anyway?

                         Thanks, Pete.
No. The shape of the recess is different

What something is worth is what someone is willing to pay for it. There will always be those willing to pay for “a story”

David,
You probably are the type of guy that would show up at a gunfight with a butter knife. Foolish thinking. You post part of our conversation to try and discredit me. You forgot your comment before your post above,

“For some reason though you almost totally ignored my questions”

And as far not offering to sell knobs for under $100, no you didn’t miss you chose to leave it out to try and make yourself look good. Here’s my words again from our conversation

Your previous message

What you have is a knob worth maybe 50 bucks. To back up what I say I will sell you several for 50 each. Not 2300

I have offered David all the data known about the S8MS shift knob and how it came to be and why it was likely never used on assembly line (not conjecture but facts relayed by Tom@ ASCO) plus what his knob was. He told me unless I gave him pictures etc I had no credibility. I even offered to sell him knobs like his at what his was worth IMO.(under $100)
What to find out what it’s worth David? Start new auction with $25 opening bid

831, 833, 841 are dates that are feasible for assembly line (Smith) install. There weren’t a lot of factory installs but the ones I’ve seen, maybe 5 cars, have all had the S7 . Majority of dealer installs are the latest S2 with the coil pedestal
