The Lounge / New Registry
September 04, 2019, 05:20:53 PM
Just wondered if anyone is having problems with pages coming out of the new registry. I'm reading the 1966 registry, and the pages are just falling out. If that's just the way it is, I would be willing to pay more to get them bound like the older ones. Ron

1966 Shelby GT350/GT350H / Trunk lock cylinder removal
August 19, 2019, 04:34:59 PM
Hi Guys, I went thru the trap door, and removed the trunk lock bezel and cylinder that the key goes in. Can't figure how to get the cylinder out of the bezel. I know someone here knows how. Thanks in advance for all the help.  Ron

1966 Shelby GT350/GT350H / Trunk lock not working
August 18, 2019, 12:59:24 PM
Hi Everybody, Yesterday I went to get into the trunk of 6S550, and the key will not go  in all the way. I tried my spare key, and got the same result. I have sprayed WD-40 into the key way several times, still the key only goes in about half way. What would you suggest. How can I get into the trunk, if the problem continues. Thanks for all your suggestions. Ron

Ask a Registrar / May have found another '69 Shelby
June 30, 2019, 06:49:52 PM
Would the registrar for '69 Shelbys get in touch with me. I met a man on our cruise who has a '69 GT350, and has owned it since new. Ron

Has anyone ever had the motor continue to run when you turn the key off. I'm guessing it is the ignition switch. It's the original one that came on the car. Thanks for your input. Ron

Appeals / 1969 Registrar
June 28, 2019, 04:18:13 PM
Met a man on our cruise who has a '69 GT 350. He's had it since new, and from talking to him, I doubt that it's got any info in the registry. Would the '69 registrar contact me. Ron

1966 Shelby GT350/GT350H / Article about 6S550
May 13, 2019, 07:44:02 PM
Hi Everyone, Just wanted to let you all know that JP Emerson  did an article about our Hertz, 6S550. The website is www.Fordmuscle.com. There are a couple of errors, but a pretty good writeup. Ron

If anyone has contact info for Dale and Lynda Szymanski, I would like to get in touch with them. They have a '68 KR green. I would like to ask if they are interested in taking the KR to Telluride in Sept. to the Cars & Colors car show. Thanks for any leads. Ron

The Lounge / Telluride car show
May 02, 2019, 12:54:28 PM
Just a note to ask if anyone would like to take their '65, '67 '68 '69 'or '70 Shelbys to this show . The man running it said he would like to have one of each year on display. He will have cars picked up in Denver area, and bring them back in his transporter. If he accepts your car, you would only be responsible for  your meals and lodging. There are several hotels that offer discounts to show entrants. Cars will be  locked in his airplane hanger at night. If anyone is interested, you can call me at 303-772-7948, and I will tell you all I know, and give you his contact info.  Ron

Rocky Mountain Region SAAC / Telluride car show
April 20, 2019, 01:40:27 PM
Hi Everyone, I've been talking to Ray Cody, he's the founder, about the show. He would like to have one of each year there. He will pick cars up in Westminster on Thursday so they will be in Telluride on Friday. They will be in an airplane hanger for the show, and it will be locked at night. We are taking our '66 Hertz, so he needs all other years. You can call me at 303-772-7948 and I can explain what I know, or call Ray at 970-519-1767. You can look up Cars and Colors online to find out more about the show, and lodging there. Ron

The Lounge / First GT 500 made
April 07, 2019, 02:07:18 PM
Looking for the man in Firestone, Co. that has the first GT500 built, I think. I think the name is Eric, but in looking over all the member handles, I don't see any that are what I think is his. Seems like it is something with EXP in it. If you see this, or if anyone has his handle, please PM me.  Ron

1966 Shelby GT350/GT350H / Tach mounting screws
May 12, 2018, 11:32:23 AM
Just wondering about the screws, and metal standoffs used to mount the tach in a '66 Hertz. I installed a new dash pad back in the mid 70's, and do not remember any of the tubular spacers going thru the pad under the tach. The tach had pulled way down into the old dash pad, so don't think it had the spacers. I would really appreciate pics of the screws, and spacers. I'm going to install my tach tomorrow. I just got it back from being restored by Phil. Thanks in advance.  Ron

The Lounge / '65 Ford VIN Not Shelby related
January 26, 2018, 12:51:24 PM
Does anyone know the approximate Ford vin of the earliest fastbacks that were built. I have a friend, who's vin ends in 154081, I think. I might be missing a 0 in the middle. I think when San Jose started Mustang production, they started with 100001, but since fastbacks started much later, there were a lot of Mustangs already built. His car has some odd features, and he has been told it was a very early fastback. Thanks for any help with this. Ron

The Lounge / '65 Ford VIN Not Shelby related
January 26, 2018, 12:37:23 PM
Does anyone know the approximate Ford VIN for the first '65 fastbacks that were built. I have a friend with one, with some features that are odd. Last numbers are 154081, I think. I know it starts with 154, and ends in 081. I might be missing a 0 in the middle. I believe the first mustang built at San Jose would have been 100001, but that would have been in 1964 before the fastback body style was starting to be built. Thanks in advance for any help with this question. Ron
