Hi all 67 fans!
Just a correction to the correction Fred Goodell was sent by Ford to SAI and was officially hired in Dec 1966 I think the 5th....he was there before hand and he corrected and sped up many of
the build procedures of the 67.....This is in the registry and the book on Cal. specials by Paul Newitt. hope this helps clarify.

Hi car folks,
Just a quick note to confirm for Richstang....RR06 has for certain 2759 sent to ABJ FORD INC. TRENTON ILLINOIS Replaced by 2762  these are typed numbers not hand written. The upper left has a circled F357  and the upper right has 6/14 circled then the shipping date has Jun 22 1967 stamped in place..Hope this helps. I think  Dave M will have copies. Thanks also for letting us know about
Hadley transport contact info even though we need an employee from the 1960's  we might get somewhere by following up on this contact.

Hi,
Just a quick update on the rail invoices-much like Richstang points out-it appears all cars involved in the rail incident had a second invoice made up for the replacement car sent.
I have RR06 which is for 67210F7A02759 Replaced by 2762 and it has a stamped shipping date of June 22 ...as mentioned previously we think the derailment happened between the end of June and
the July 4th weekend....still possibly as late as  July 7th and we finally know that Santa Fe Salvage had a holding yard in San Bernadino we also have learned that the salvage price was most likely based on the "cost "  price of each unit,and the salvage company had to buy the entire shipment. Still many unanswered questions but a few blanks filled in. Now if we could find a former Hadley
transport driver and learn their process it would be huge to help figure this out completely...I hope to learn the date most of all.

Hi 67 Fans,
Just a few comments-0017 should be on this list. Also I am thinking 0003 was built with a flat cap and it was changed along with much of the interior to look more 1968.
Would like to also ask if anyone out there knows of any cars on the following list as the owners are in the registry but have not been to any conventions/shows recently.
0007-0049-0053-0059-0060-0065-0072-0075. And the 2 cars that are real different would be Lowells and 0176 both really not part of Shelbys official count of 1967 production.

Hi all,
With a quick check of the registry it appears this must have been a show during the 1967 season. No cars were completed and shipped to Belgium until after Mid December and later....
Really like the Ford G.T. and the go kart display--note the title says 1967-- My bet would be this is #0147 or #0156 and it is a spring 1967 event...we must be able to pin a date on this.

Just looked at this again from the Ford side and noticed it is column # 63 on the V.O.I. that shows type of audio equipment....so when you are looking over the Marti report please check this
column and see if there is a digit---The report may not have it listed in the options section,yet it may still be on the report if this column contains a digit. Kinda technical but sorta important.
Thanks for showing the pictures of a radio delete car ! I also must wonder if they experienced a parts shortage sometime during production Remember 472,000 Mustangs built was a big
year....and Cougar shared many of the parts....imagine if you had the contract to supply just radios!!! Also wanted to mention that radios and antenna lead in cables both have date codes...
so if the car is apart it should be simple enough to prove the manufactured date at the very least. Also keep in mind dealers could delete an option when and if the car was special ordered (which
was extremely rare for these cars) Now off to find Sgt. Peppers to enjoy !!

Just one other thing to point out as a "Manufacturer"
Shelby had to follow state guidelines and in 67 the vin numbers were way different than anything they had produced prior to this,even the
number of digits....other new stuff would be drivetrain package codes and as a year unique feature the color code....as part of the vin, and even that was revised to add the color code 0 late in
production.The state does not count the "Z" AS PART OF THE VIN.In case anyone was curious. Hope this helps complete the puzzle.....Just my 2 cents for today

Hi All "Z" People,
Just a few notes about this--Dave says we may not ever know a total of cars with a "Z" because it would require seeing every car. His comment was a response to my theory of the "Z" being used
as a code for inspected and ready to ship out of state....meaning California. According to the records as of 1996  only 390 cars were reported to have the "Z" and of those only 66 were sold in Cal.
and all but 70 cars had thermactors. I also think it could mean ready to ship by rail,and it would be interesting to see how many "Z" cars were shipped by rail--which again seems to be another
possibility.I really think it is safe to say the inspected and approved theory is good--yet won't be surprised to learn it has other purposes as well.

A HUGE THANKS to Keith for the devotion-dedication,and time spent on all this.
The car in the video with Mr. Shelby and the Ford executive in front of the building shows the front fender emblem centered on the fender...we need to put a date on this.
Several things point this to car #0003 and the date would really help.
The cars driven in the video near LAX are different cars-the "Theme" restaurant is visible and a good landmark--it is also where the brochure photos were done..
Remember #0003 was the first production car finished and was promptly sent to the Michigan car show-Burnt Amber was a new release and they were testing the reaction on people--I dont
think it went over well,Now years later it is a hit,as times and acceptance of rare/different things are o.k. in everyones world.

Hi Rail fans,
A quick note 2621 also had body damage which was evident when you looked inside the trunk,right 1/4 panel was replaced-it was bought at a deep discount, which we assume was due to this
repair,and first registered as a 1967 Chevy G.T. 350  in California. So far that is 3 cars all with damage on the right side. Now you know what I know. Thanks to all who continue to attempt to
figure out a 51 year old case.
