Either way KerryBWhite that is a great idea.

You know what KerryBWhite that is an excellent point, I will share that option with him. I hadn't thought about that route.

Hi Don yes I mentioned that very thing to him. He is not interested in dealing with some of the people on places like this. Although 99.9% of them are fantastic, like everything else its the .1% that mess things up for everyone and its those people that he wants nothing to do with. So I guess his data with never be found because of this. Sad.

If the current owner of this car would like to get a hold of my I would be happy to share more pics and info about the car. In the meantime, here's Dennis in the car, my wife who cleans up nicely I must say at a car show with the K code and the K code at the drag strip in 1967.

1966 Shelby GT350/GT350H / Fond memories of car #130

Not my car but this particular 1966 Shelby used to roar by me as I walked to grade one in the 60's. Obviously it was love at first site for me as a 6 year old and I hunted for that thing high and low around town. I eventually found it a few weeks later and I would ride my (Mustang) bike over to visit the car every Saturday. This was 1967 I believe, I was 6 years old. Fast forward to 2012 and I am driving around town in a 1966 Antique Bronze K code fastback that I had just restored. I get waved down by someone on the street. Turns out he remembers my K code from the local drag strip in 1967. I recognize the guys last name, his brother owned the local Ford dealership in my town back in the 60's and 70's. I asked him if they still had that GT350. He replied (rather shocked) that they did and the next day I was visiting the car that got me hooked on Shelby's in the 1st place, car number 130. When I met Dennis the owner, I told him that I was that kid that used to hang out at the end of his driveway. He replied "you were that kid...I always wondered who that was! " Dennis died not long after these pictures were taken but I was glad to meet him and let him know that it was his car that started my love of this automobile. These pictures are from that day...

Both GT350's, one a 1968 and the other a 1970. Neither of them are in this registry. Both are absolutely stunning. I was lucky enough that the owner let me visit the 68 from time to time so that I could figure out some assembly/general details while I was putting mine together.

The Lounge / Re: Will this forum evolve or devolve?

You know what, I am not interested in pointing this forum in the "devolve" direction. If certain members here want push it in that direction, go ahead. The buck stops here. If certain people want to keep beating this thing to death well then its on you.

Hi Tim,

I have long suspected that you are one of those people who has nothing better to do with your time then become the self appointed expert on everything. I must thank you for proving it  to me in stunning and public fashion, so yes, thank you for that. Apparently you also fancy yourself as a toploader tag CSI expert, good for you. Perhaps you should avail yourself to the FBI or some other important sounding investigative agency where your talents and interests are better served.

It is interesting to me that you accuse me of fraud, I have neither the inclination, the desire or, for that matter, the skill or resources to manufacture such things. Also, why would a person that was trying to defraud another person; a. advertise that part here for sale in a tank so ripe with fish like you begging for the opportunity to show the world how clever they are, and; b. advertise that part with clear and crisp pictures of the "fraudulent" tag in the first place? Do you know what else is criminal Mr Lea? Accusing people of committing fraud which of course, cements you firmly in the fool category. Troll somebody else please, I have no tolerance for your kind.

Greetings all, this transmission has been sold. Thank you all for your interest.

I will leave it up to the rest of you, (the ones with nothing better to do), to prattle on endlessly about tags and experts and advice. While you are doing that, I am going to finish off my car!

Cheers!

You are not the less gifted expert, you simply got some bad advice. Jumping to the conclusion that I was referring to you is a mistake on your part. You took the advice of your experts and that is a good thing if you trust them. I am sure that you have heard the expression regarding opinions, everyone has one.

1968 Shelby GT350/500/500KR / Thermactor belt
February 01, 2018, 08:35:08 PM
Greetings all,

I am about to begin the process of restoring and installing the thermactor system on my 1968 GT350 with a manual transmission. I have everything I need to complete the job except the belt for the thermactor pump. Can anyone tell me a part number for it? Also, any pictures of nicely done engines with this system would be greatly appreciated. A fan belt routing diagram would be handy as well.

Thank you in advance.
