I hope you find one - these have become quite expensive and the crooks have been out in full force trying to sell fakes.  Hopefully you know how to identify the real deal from the clones.  It all comes down to the choke stop (:

Not full proof since I have seen that rib faked on at least one HiPo Autolite 4100 clone so far for a fact!

Really?!  Wow, the lengths some would go through to fake people out of their money.  There is still another easy tell, though (easier to fake, too).  Was already posted above (:

Sharp GT350 in green.  I get so many compliments on my Ivy Green Mustang and I'm sure you will, too.  Beautiful car!

Once they made the GTH, when H stood for Heritage I had my fill.  They milked that cow and then when the cow didn't have anything left, they found a new orifice to try.  The Hertz/Shelby connection was a real story back in '66 and again in 06.  Both those periods were filled with innovative new Shelby Mustang stories.  Both those periods bankrolled Shelby so that the Shelby Mustangs we know and love could even exist.  Perhaps this time it's the other way around.  An up and coming, relatively unknown rental car company will be looking to gain some exposure by using Shelby's name.

I'm sure these cars are great, and I would love to rent one.  I just don't think I would be able to afford it.  I'm guessing they don't hand out this kind of power for free and to just anybody.

Hi Jay, I have a 68 roll bar with the retractors and harnesses in the same condition. Please let me know what you sell yours for as I would like to sell but don't know the value. Thanks.

Not a good apples to apples comparison, IMO.

SAAC Forum Discussion Area / Re: How to sell a Shelby?

If you have time on your side and want to get a market price for your Shelby, I would consider reaching out to a well respected broker who is a SAAC member with excellent integrity.  There are a few who participate here on this forum and I can give you some suggestions if you want to PM me.  A proper broker will give you his honest and experienced assessment of the realistic value for your car and will ultimately come to an agreement for an acceptable purchase price and commission.  If you are not realistic in your value expectations, a good broker will tell you as much and may not even agree to try and sell your car because it doesn't help their business to do so.  A good broker will earn his money by accurately verifying your car's condition and originality (or lack thereof) for you and a buyer.  They will check date codes and stampings and verify and document them for your presentation.  If your car is a great one, these details will help tremendously.

Bring a Trailer has become very popular lately, but you need to have 2 things in place or you will lose your chance to present your car in favorable light and the internet does not forget.  The crowds will be hard on you, so you better know your product inside and out, and you better not have any excuses in regards to recent maintenance, repairs, etc.  You have to be transparent and prepared.  You also should enlist the help of a professional experienced automobile photographer who knows how to photograph a car for BaT.  This is so far from what you typically see on eBay, Craigslist, and even the most glorified live auction sites.  The photos will help sell, or it will help bury you.  Don't jump in lightly to BaT, but if you are properly prepared with the right car you may do well for the least amount of money out of your pocket.

The e-blast and the re-blast said best to use online booking and included a link. I tried this the evening it went live, and the link was dead both times I tried.

Up For Auction / Re: $350K for another elinor Clone
January 20, 2019, 10:15:14 AM
That movie car sold Sat night had an automatic transmission.  I'd hate to pay $350K for a movie car that clearly featured a standard transmission and have to explain that mine was the real one from the movie.  I'd probably just tint the windows and keep the doors shut (:

The blue GT500 car with outboards and an automatic did very well last night.  I think it was $240K??

Who's Jerry Maddox, and why are all of the Mustangs in "his collection" photographed in all different locations/environments?

What about buying a used car from either a private seller or dealer in WA and taking delivery out of state?  Taxed twice???

Wanted to Buy / Re: Looking for 65 or 66 Convertible GT

I had a photo here earlier of a friend's car, and just learned that it has been sold and pending payment.  I removed the photo so that the OP can still try and find a car and that this thread doesn't become confusing with that photo.

This watch is only 2 years old and has been tuned by the MFR since it was new?  Looks like a lot of wear for only 2 years old.  I have a 20 year old watch I wear every day that doesn't have the wear marks this one does.  I guess I'll stick with my sub $500 Swiss Army editions (:
