1965 GT350/R-Model / Installing a Package Tray
December 13, 2023, 12:06:58 PM
I am helping to install a 1966 package tray in a 1965 fastback.  I noticed in the current Shelby American Annual a few pictures of the wood reinforcing.  I have a few questions:

1. How far back from the front is the lateral wooden support and how is it attached?
2. Is the self screwed only along the top or the lower trim panel, and is it screwed into the front edge of the lower trim panel as well?

Any help will be much appreciated.

Thanks,

Greek

Appeals / 1967 Deluxe Seatback Repair
October 21, 2023, 03:52:44 PM
I noticed a small vertical crack on my drivers seatback.  I thought there was a thread on someone who repairs the seatbacks.  I did a search and came up empty.  Does someone know of a company/person that repairs seatbacks?

Thanks,

Concours Talk / 1966/1967 GT-350 Dip Sticks
June 05, 2023, 03:25:08 PM
Over  the years I have seen different looking oil dip sticks in use and advertised for sale, all to be correct for 1966 and 1967 GT-350's respectively.  I did a quick Forum search and did not find what I was looking for.  Therefore, I decided to ask the question, what is the correct oil dip stick for 1966 and 1967 Gt-350's?

Below, are the oil dip sticks from my cars.  The upper is from my 1966, which I bought in 1992 from the second owner.  It has no Ford logo or part number

The lower is from my 1967, which I bought in 1987.  The car had numerous owners.  It has the FoMoCo logo in a rectangle, the letter "M" a small distance from the logo, and no part number.  This dip stick is a tad longer than the 1966.

My question is, are these correct for each car?

Thanks,

Greek

I am sure this has been asked before, but could not find the answer by searching.

What is the correct rivet color for the VIN tag?

According the latest 1967 Registry, GT-350 oil caps were chrome and had either FoMoCo in an oval or a stamped Autolite depending on production time frame.

My question is, would either of the oil caps pictured with Autolite stamped on them be correct for a June production at SA?

Thanks,

Greek

Posting is for a friend of a friend.  I do not know anything about this engine.  The seller is asking $19,500, and the engine is located in California.  His name is Bill Erickson, phone is 805-890-1461.  He is available to answer any and all questions and can provide additional documentation of the build.

Thanks for looking.

October 18, 2021, 04:09:36 PM
Discovered this crack in my intake manifold at #8 cylinder intake port.  I believe I am now in the market for a S2MS intake manifold.  Do not really want to buy a reproduction. Hopefully, someone has a good used one or NOS piece.

1966 Shelby GT350/GT350H / Trap Door Bumpers
October 02, 2021, 07:27:03 PM
Are these the correct trap door bumpers for 1966, or are they for 1967 and up?  I have seen them advertised as 1966 bumpers.

Thanks.

Concours Talk / Correct Radiator Hose Clamps
August 11, 2021, 11:04:34 AM
While checking out the 1966 Shelbys in Concours at SAAC 46, I noticed both style radiator hose clamps were being used.  I was wondering if there is a clear change over date from the tower style clamp to the stapled wire clamps.  I would suspect the first 252 cars had tower clamps, but curious about the change.

Thanks,

1966 Shelby GT350/GT350H / Brake Scoop Attachment
April 07, 2021, 09:31:27 PM
I did a search on the scoop attachment, but either there is not a thread, or I am not using the correct wording.

What I would like to know, was any type of strip caulk or sealer used between the scoop and body?

Thanks,

Greek
