is that a fuel pressure gauge in the secondary bowl? Thought 3259-1 were used in the 66 cars. 3259 and 3259-1 are very different in design and cost.

1965 GT350/R-Model / Re: 65 GT350 T10M speedo gear
September 17, 2023, 12:12:18 PM
thanks for the info explaining the difference between the 3 speed and auto trans DRIVEN gear with pitch in one direction versus the T10M and 4-speed driven gear with pitch going other direction. That means the drive and driven gears for 3 speed and auto are both pitched one direction and drive/driven gears for T10 and 4-speed in other direction.

Assume physically impossible to use drive gear for T10M or 4-speed with a driven gear desiged for 3-speed or automatic?

1965 GT350/R-Model / 65 GT350 T10M speedo gear

Am having an issue with a 65 speedo plastic driven gear in a T10M transmission. Seems to be eating up gears. Possible wrong pitch driven gear is in there? Are 3 speed and auto driven gears same pitch as 4 speed T10M and toploaders? Is there a pitch mismatch thats cause of problem?

Charles, what light bulb are you referencing? I am talking about the shielded wire that connects to the fuel tank sender that goes across the top edge of the gas tank in the trunk area into the harness above drivers wheelwell. How is replacement shielding put on that wire without cutting the molded connector at the tank sender off?

Charles, you memtioned "inside the light socket". I have a sending unit wire cover and am scratching head as to how it is installed without snipping the wire at some location. Where is optimum spot to cut the wire and feed the covering over it and reconnect the press on sender unit fitting?
Sending unit wirecover I  have is from Virginia Classic Mustang (their P/N PE-219) is approx 5 feet long and has a 1/2 inch long double ended butt end connector. Apparently, the covering is installed after cutting the sender wire then using the connector to reattch the two ends. Where would be best place to cut the wire? Has me scratching whats left of hair..

Thanks my friend. Do you remember how the wire and its shielding was secured to the trunk floor? Maybe strip of tape or two or maybe clips mounted to the tank flange screws?

The sway bar has a large rubber grommit held in place by a clamp that has two nuts and bolts that hold the clamp and bushings in place to the sway bar mounting bracket that is welded to the frame. The date code is stampedf on the top side of the bracket between the two bolt heads holding the clampo inplace. Mine is 4 12 2D...

sent you a PM with sway bar date code info.

Interesting looks like the clips face different directions..

Thanks very much Jeff. Any way to determine which method (clip/tape/both) would be appropriatew for 5S228? Does the sender wire have a barrel connector close to the hinge area?

65 GT350 fuel sender wire insulation. Can someone post picture of fuel sender wire under the trunk area. Want to see what type insulation was on original sender wire. And if possible, picture of same yellow wire under the mat in trunk.
Thanks!
