1965 GT350/R-Model / 65 GT350 T10M speedo gear
« on: September 16, 2023, 07:48:01 PM »
Am having an issue with a 65 speedo plastic driven gear in a T10M transmission. Seems to be eating up gears. Possible wrong pitch driven gear is in there? Are 3 speed and auto driven gears same pitch as 4 speed T10M and toploaders? Is there a pitch mismatch thats cause of problem?

1965 GT350/R-Model / 65 Hipo Engine Balance
« on: February 21, 2022, 04:30:38 PM »
When Ford balanced the 65 HiPo 289 rotating assembly, did they (Ford) include the flywheel and the thick balancer/hatchet, in the balance? I assume the balance excluded the balancer/hatchet and flywheel as those could be replaced during life of the engine without requiring a rebalance.

Thanks in advance

1965 GT350/R-Model / 65 Hipo Distributor - A question of Dwell
« on: December 28, 2021, 11:14:10 AM »
Believe Bob Mannels book says to set points in a 65 dual point distributor to .019-.021 which should result in 30-33 degrees of dwell. If you blocked one set of points (A) and adjusted other (B) to 26 degrees dwell, moved block from A and moved it to B, then set dwell on A to 26 degrees, total dwell should be between 30-33 degrees when blocks removed. Would think dwell meter would be much more accurate than a feeler gauge. Thoughts?
