The Lounge / Re: 10 favorite Ford V8s

the 5.4 in the "modular" family is certainly a rugged workhorse... with many lasting hundreds of thousands of miles in Ford Trucks and Vans. I'm pretty sure that the "million mile van" used it.
That motor with the supercharger on top also worked pretty good in the Ford GT. 8)

Also/FWIW - the Simeone Museum (in Philly) is going all out to celebrate this 100th Anniversary, with around 30 hours  :o of non-stop activities and demonstrations. They plan to run more than 36 cars during the course of the 2 days...
They've been teasing us with night photos of some cars running for weeks.
Blurb from the website:
"Celebrate 100 years of the world's greatest and most celebrated endurance road race with the Simeone Museum's "24 Heures Du Simeone special event.  This 24 hour+ jam-packed program will feature 36+ legendary sports racing cars from our collection and will include driving demonstrations, film showings, surprise guests, and photo opportunities that will bring you back in time to some of the greatest Le Mans stories up close..."
The Museum set up a special website just for this event:

Appeals / Re: What insurance do you guys use
June 07, 2023, 01:29:56 PM
Seems kinda funny, but I can't seem to easily find a list of the companies that are now included in the same ownership as "American Collectors Insurance".
Heacock and Condon-Skelly are included, I think that there is at least one more(?)

I've had Condon-Skelly since 1985... back when a nearby location was important - I could drive over there on my lunch break with the needed photos.
One claim a while back, I was treated very well and they had no issues making sure it was fixed right.

I remember watching some of the build thread, and read more on the B.a.T. auction - "awesome" does not fully describe this car.
Hopefully both the buyer and seller see the sale as a "win"  8)

Compiled my photos and photos from our "unofficial" museum photographer into a slideshow.

Wow, Thanks for the link, Bill - looks like it was a fantastic day... might've taken a couple of weeks to get the story on each Plane and each car   :o

I'll put that in the well bought class. Not a steal but still that is a lot of history and some prestigious awards for being out of the barn for such a short time.
...  The ghost is registered on the Historic Vehicles list I believe.

grabbing that legendary car with its place on the Historic Vehicle Registry (#28 if I'm reading things right) hopefully resulted in a "Win" on both sides of the transaction.
I was sorry to see that the family didn't keep it, but also don't know the reasoning. A
Agree with Ed in hoping that the car will be preserved.

This arrived just this week, to be added to the fleet.
Won't win any speed races, but I just run hot, and make everyone else pull over.

wow... looks huge - very cool  8)
There's a guy near me that has various Pontiac stuff, shows up at the cruise nights with a hearse from the malaise era... but it would look tiny next to that Olds!

Thanks for the support Roy.
I hate to hear of stories like yours - the disease is nasty, incurable, and then keeps causing other issues  >:( Sorry to hear of your situation.
Nancy came back home today... she was in the ICU for 2 weeks back in January with brain abscess / seizures and has been in Rehabilitation since.
Even tho she's not back to baseline (mentally or physically), our Insurance said to send her home. We're trying to figure out what is next...  :'(
