You can try yourself or contact David:

David's email isn't working so try calling if you need to reach him.
I emailed twice and each time returned.  Have not tried calling yet.

Thanks for sharing.
A huge talent for sure that left too early.

Finally watched Ford v Ferrari last weekend.  Enjoy it and so did my wife which says a lot about the movie!

Just so MsLucy isn't confused...the car she is looking into is said to be a GT500
The one Bret at Cape Cod is selling is a 350.
There is some difference in value...a 500 being more.

If it was one less zero I don't think the OP would have posted till AFTER they bought it!

The seller (or broker/shop) seems to have taken an infomercial course

What baffles me is why a guy with a car that expensive (especially a Cobra!) would put it on craigslist.  Not the typical place you'd find a buyer for such a machine. More like ladies clearing out closets and guys looking to fence stolen stuff.

I agree.  I meant to say that also!

I remember when I lived up there (been down South now 18 years...about as long as I grew up in NY) and if you got outta the DMW with goal accomplished in 1 try it was a major win!!
Much easier dealing with the DMV in GA!

you talk to the people who are handling  your car  / no brokers

I've always talked to the driver directly.
Most think all brokers are bad....hasn't been my case and I've moved everything from rotted rollers to Shelbys.
Many on here have deep pockets so if they want to spend $2500 to move their Shelby cross country, fine.
As this thread has shown many have used different means for transporting with success.  We're all just sharing our good experiences and opinions.

Hi Doug,

I grew up in NY.  I mentioned about the NY title in my post.

I don't understand what it has to do with immigration either but what I was trying to say is I think any vehicle that is trying to be exported that has NY docs is having issues now (regardless of what port)
Sounds like it has to do with accessing the NY database for verification.

Congrats on your great purchase.  Love the color combo.
Deluxe parchment is my favorite interior on any old Stang.
I'm slowly getting around to getting back on the road a 67 GT 390 FB raven black with parchment deluxe.

I've worked with Chris at www.discountautotransport.com for close to 10 years.
He's helped move over 100 vehicles for me, family and friends.
We've done both open haulers and enclosed...long hauls and short.
Yes he is a broker but he's also a long time Mustang fan and owner.

So export them from another state? Is it that complicated? Port Newark is right across the river in "Jersey". They'd be happy to relieve you of your money. ;)

Maybe I'm not following but it seems to have more to do with a vehicle having NYS title (not issued on old cars for a long time there) or registration.
It doesn't have to do with physically where the vehicle is being exported from.
So to get around the issue a vehicle will have to have other State docs.

I'm helping a buddy in the UK bring a 68 coupe over there.  First thing the shipping broker said to me was "It doesn't have NY docs does it!?"

That is some amazing work!!  Thanks for sharing.
Good to see a brew in the pic too...those are needed now and then when working on these old cars and parts!

Next year if I'm bored I may come up with the "12 Days of Pookie Christmas"
Wouldn't take long to come up with 12 "NOS" items  :)
