The white brake booster vacuum port is original but they were normally painted black along with the booster / filter and master cylinder.

This car has a later Shelby #, but the Ford build was early March '68.  Since the booster valve type is a Ford running change, should be able to figure out from other cars built close in production at Metuchen.

My March 4 build has center tit and manifold.

Mine arrived yesterday despite the label being almost unreadable.  Ink rubbed off in transit.  Arkansas arrival.

SAAC Forum Discussion Area / Tom Corcoran - RIP
April 23, 2023, 10:43:47 PM
Forgive me if this was mentioned previously; I don't think so.

Tom Corcoran, editor of Mustang Monthly Magazine back in the late 80's, as well as author of several Mustang and Shelby books, passed away back in February of this year.  He was an acclaimed fiction writer, having published a series of Alex Rutledge character novels (which are very fun reads).  Tom also co-wrote songs that are Jimmy Buffett classics, and was a photographer for JB over several years.  A naval officer, a bartender, a father, and a great guy.  Tom owned a '67 Shelby.

I had the pleasure of knowing Tom.  RIP

The caps with the woodgrain press onto the base.  Take a plastic credit card and use the edge to work into the small gap (at a corner) and gently pry the cap away to reveal the screw below.

Big bath of Evapo Rust is a good start. I lined a long rectangular box with drop cloth plastic from Home Depot to do my driveshaft.

Strong second on the EvapORust bath.  Soak shop rags wrapped around pipe for days and days.  Then hand cleaning with Scotch pad (red) then decided if you want raw finish or coated.

Was recently told by the UPS clerk that I can buy as much insurance as I want, but unless they pack it, it isn't valid!!!  news to me?
