Here's a tip on gasoline:  DO NOT fill up at the end of the season with 87 Octane fuel.  Most, if not all of that grade contains 10% ethanol.  Carb issues appear the next spring.
Battery: at least disconnect the negative cable.  But the best way is to remove the battery and put it in the house.  (unless you have a heated storage place).
Wheels/Tires: Chrome rimmed wheels last better when removed and also put in the house.  I have what I call a storage set.  Old steel wheels and bald tires.

How 'bout a little of the story.  Where was that pin used?

We've got another "scoop light" brother in the group now.  Enjoy the ride.

The real aggrivation is when one of these late knock-offs is entered in a local car show and wins the class.  And not the "modified" class either.

You read is correectly.  Just got the E-mail from Ashton.  The show has been cancelled due to the Governor's "no more than 100 people" rule.  See, elections have consquences.

JD is correct.  I bought #0036 in 1971, no seal and no evidence of one being there.

Cool.  Thanks.  Van Senus auto parts is still in business.  And they have one of the last few automotive machine shops in Northwest Indiana.  They did the block on #0036 some 30 yearsa ago.  No problems still.

Ah, that would be a "Panduit" zip tie.

" US 30 dragstrip"?  The one outside Gary Indiana or the one in New York?  If it was the one in Gary, I never ran into the car when I was out there running #0036.

Not defroster duct, that duct's diameter was too small.  It was some industrial grade duct that would be hard to find in todays light-weight world.

I don't know if it has a trade name, by when I worked building the Amtak Superliners we (at the plant) called it "loom guard".  You might be able to find it in a McMaster-Carr catalog.

First thing to check is the idler arm for play.  Seems that is the first thing to wear out.

They could have covered the "skunk works" stuff the engineers were doing out on Woodward avenue a little better.  But Ive seen the series and its pretty good.

I can tell you that the Lucas "Flame Thrower's" (center high beams) would certainly get the headlight circuit breaker shutting off the headlights after about 30 seconds

Around here (Northern Illinois/ Chicago)  there is a fellow who put a Talledega front end on a Ranchero.  Upgrades included the red/white Cale Yarbourough paint scheme.  Cool looking rig.
